I can certainly understand. One thing I have learned over this life is there is no “Utopia” anywhere in the world. Each place (even the “best” place) will have its challenges and imperfections. It’s really moreso about what feeds our spirit and renews us.

True. Black Americans & South Africans are fighters too. We both managed to thrive in the face of adversity & no hostile environment is insurmountable to us. I know your mindset is right & may we all experience prosperity on the continent

My 2nd video of you guys .... Rugby - The US have a decent Rugby-7's team. The Sevens rugby is a (quicker) version of rugby proper. with a team of 7 players instead of 15. The US team are taking part in the yearly World Rugby Sevens Series ... I love how you have your PLANNING on point! No Mel, you need to talk more 😍

Yes! 😄 When we flew back last month we flew into Cape Town. We were unable to depart the plane though (plus it was late night)😔 and couldn’t see the daytime beauty. We only picked up additional passengers to fly back to the United States. Believe it or not when we first began this journey, our initial trip was booked to split time between Cape Town and Johannesburg as we wanted to explore both possibilities. However… COVID hit, and travel restrictions caused us to have to cancel the trip. A year later the cost between both cities became prohibitive and we had to pick one. We will however make our way to Cape Town, 😉and who knows if we are so fortunate we might be able to afford to save and purchase a modest place there in the future - to either let to a local or even spend time there from time to time while there.

Awesome. I’m looking forward to putting together our Documentary - to show what went on behind-the-scenes during our process. Maybe what we can do is drop a few “tidbit” videos here and there in the meantime for people such as yourself. 🤔 There are definitely things along the way that have provided us knowledge that we can share.

We did it centered around a theme working (and continuing to work) together over the years - to operate from a standpoint of sacrifice, modesty, and practical discipline to achieve just a couple of relatively big and meaningful things in life, without being consumed by the meaningless more “flashy” and fleeting stuff. 😊 We’ll probably do another one eventually, once I get my Amapiano skills tight on the music production side. That’s going to take a little. 🤭I want to add that genre to my arsenal. Gotta craft a unique log drum patch sound to start with. I don’t want to depart too much though from the generally recognized sound, going in. We’ll see…

Hi family great friend made..not 2 be bad or anything but sometimes foreigners who work or live here, sometimes not all..the few will have not so good intentions as the foreigners know Americans have money. We as South Africans know this..just vigilant.
@MelAndMe Жыл бұрын
Trust that WE (Mel & Me) truly respect that perspective. 👍🏾 We understand there is a delicate balance. We are no strangers to bad intentions, as the same thing exists here even with fellow Americans. Big cities here in the U.S. force us to live fast, fast, fast. So we have that gear when needed. We are after all regular people though who might have a slight advantage (being American), but will take care to manage the intentions of others as well as our own in a most appropriate manner. We appreciate your input. ✊🏾

@HloksKetu More and more of us all the time are having the conversation and many are making our way there, though they tend to favor places like Ghana (I think because of the marketing. East Africa and even South Africa is starting to get more looks though. We will actually discuss this sort of thing on tomorrow’s episode. I do agree, the power of African people is in the Diaspora. There has been much gained in spite of our struggles around the world, and when coupled with the ingenuity of native Peoples on the Continent we can indeed be a force to propel the Continent to new and higher levels. We just have to want to commit to push through the challenges of our estrangement toward those broader goals…together. I’m/we’re down for it!

Please beware of african foreigners which mostly are illegal immigrants they might come across as very friendly but they can have alterior motives, also be careful allowing them in your house, you might find your house empty or scammed. I was actually surprised native South Africans will hardly ask for your number we very reserved people and respect people's spaces. There's a lot of complex issues happening in this country where we have illegal immigrats taking most of all entry level jobs because the Boers are using them for cheap labour to replace natives which is setting SA back in terms of equality (SA is the most unequal country in the world despite being on of the most developed) These employers wish apartheid was back out of contempt that apartheid "ended" they replacing Sans with cheap labour. SA has the most unemployment in the world.

lol Rugby is a global sports. And the USA actually has a professional Rugby League. Its just that the sports is played more by white Americans and international players from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island nations as well. The US is trying hard to strengthen their league by bringing in this talent from these rugby nations from the Southern Hemisphere. The US has the money to buy talent. I think the league is called NRL - National Rugby League over there in the US

Yes. thanks for the info. Soccer is now pretty huge in the U.S. (I guess it’s officially known as “futbol/football”, though the (U.S.) version takes up that name. I actually attended a professional soccer match a couple years ago here - Atlanta United. Great team. There are definite pipelines from central and south america into the U.S., particularly for baseball and soccer.

What are you trying to achieve? You talk far too much ..
@MelAndMe Жыл бұрын
What are you trying to achieve, coming onto my KZbin channel to question the level of my conversation? Please know you have the right one today with this garbage. Do you understand what a video podcast is? Do you understand that there are two people who comprise this podcast? Do you understand that podcasts are all about INFORMING and SHARING INFORMATION?? What the hell are we supposed to do, stare into the camera looking stupid for an hour? Is there some personal inadequacy within you that causes you to possibly be jealous that YOU cannot sit in front of a camera and discuss and engage on a topic in a thoughtful, measured manner? If so, I invite you to face your shortcomings head on and stop hating on the next man or woman for building a platform to accomplish what it is they desire to accomplish. You don’t have to be here with that shallow sentiment. I invite you to leave. Information consumption is reserved for and aimed at the mature mind. You might want to go sit yourself off somewhere with a coloring book or something and hone your skills there.
