OMG!!!! I'm Soooooo excited for you all. Listening to you all sound like the convesations I've been having with my husband for the past two years. I'm for S.A. all the way! He's for 6 months in 6 months in the U.S. I'm tired of the expense, the racism and with the war and BRICS, I want to make sure we have something paid for and we can call S.A. home. Even though I've done my research, you guys have provide some great information. Thanks so much. Going to try to contact you all through FB. Valerie D

We are very much looking forward to our return Esther. 😄 We are shifting our episodes to release at a time of the day that is better for our SA audience since SA shows us so much love. Our videos will be visible at 6pm SA time instead of how it used to be at 2am. We were catering to U.S. time, but since our SA family has been SO great, we should cater more to you.

Yes, yes. We feel the love of our peeps there more all the time. We will air a recap episode tonight (US time). I’m excited because we get to give a shout out to a beautiful sister who befriended us in the grocery store there in Johannesburg South. It will be a nice surprise for her.😄

You got them old phones and that phone is cheap. And you right they not going to let cellphone number stop them from selling to you
@MelAndMe Жыл бұрын
I just needed something cheap to provide a SA phone number. 😬 When we come back I will bring a spare Android phone that I have not been using and have them do SIM swap. That will give me better results.

Welcome to SA (me in Cape Town) again. I hope that loadshedding won't be much of an issue. About the REASON why we have LS ... NO, it is not because SA's level of development is at fault. My view - because of issues that started/got worse under the rule of president Zuma - not to get too political. The real deeper reasons might be something for you to research yourself! But we will overcome that too; SA will solve energy issues long before most of the world discover that it is a problem for them too.
@MelAndMe Жыл бұрын
I can certainly see your point there. To test your assertion I decided to employ a little common sense to pose when did load shedding become an issue. The fact that it was not always there speaks to SAs “level of development”. I think in retrospect it is better to say and stress that it has been due to insufficient efforts to advance upon the development rather than development itself. That is what I think moves us into the realm of considering factors that you mentioned and is where I will do further reading on those specifics. You are also correct in pointing out that energy challenges and future demand is an issue struggled with in many parts of the world. I happen to work for a large regional energy company here in the US. My particular company has recently brought on the first new constructed nuclear reactor for generation in the U.S. since 1979. I do concur that SA will ultimately meet those challenges and I have been impressed with what I see done even in the community in which we have our residence in Joburg. No such things are typically done here in the US. Honestly, I look forward to possibly at some point employing my particular skillset in SA to contribute toward those moves forward, if such an opportunity and conditions are favorable to it. Appreciate your insight. Thank you. 🇿🇦🤝🇺🇸

@@MelAndMeso we cope with, generator, solar, gas stove, inverters, rechargeable globes etc. to keep us going. If you have those you don't really notice loadshedding. Supermarkets are equipped with generators too so we building and coping more and more.
@MelAndMe9 ай бұрын
I can definitely relate at this point. Our flat had solar inverter installed last week. We plan to do a short KZbin video in the future to share some perspective and insight I have gained just being on the ground in SA around load shedding and what I see as “the business of” load shedding.
@CharlotteLong-nh4pt9 ай бұрын
Great, solar a good idea, with sunny South Africa, solar does well. All houses built lately have solar geysers. Enjoy your new home in South Africa, at least you now own a piece of the mother land. 💕
@MelAndMe9 ай бұрын
@@CharlotteLong-nh4pt we have a flat and not a free-standing home sitting on land. It works for us though. To be honest, for us it is not only better from a security perspective because right now we travel back and forth, but we prefer to enter SA from a more modest perspective and not feel like we are “scooping up” land from S. Africa (and by extension the S. African people). I do understand your point though and it is well taken. Maybe once we have deeper roots and are there full-time executing our long term goals we will entertain free-standing (not too big though). We are over that whole thing. 🥵 So much of that in the U.S. Aesthetically appealing, but modest in size is the way to go. 😊 Thanks, appreciated.
