Im a retired field ranger and worked for two years in the greater kruger national park with a anti poaching unit. Let me tell you it’s not what people think and it’s sometimes months without any action. We had a ex royal marine sniper there. And lets just say he lasted about 2 months. So if you think you gonna come over here and kick ass you’re wrong. On top of that theres tick bite fever which you have to overcome. Not fun.

Absolutely heart breaking documentary. After years of unimageable slaughter of all species in all parks in Africa, last 2 decades saw growth in protection across the continent. It takes bands of small armies of rangers, armed to the teeth to start winning this war. The fences will get taller, those armies will get larger and more often shoot to kill will be the order of the day. The survival of this incredible, amazing wildlife is not about "rich, white tourists" but about the heritage of African people, and for the rest of the world. Forever grateful to all these people for their hard, dangerous work and commitment.

My greatest memory of my childhood (when we lived in Dar es Salaam) was during the school holidays going on safari into the East African game parks to see thousands upon thousands of every wild animal, zebra, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, lions, hippo, rhinos, every animal you could imagine, out on the Serengeti plains You could hardly see the horizon for so many animals, it was incredible, since that time I cannot visit a zoo and see wild animals confined in such an unnatural way. This was a very long time ago, some 60 years, I accept times change, but still it is so hard to accept such wonderful and magnificent animals living free are no longer with us. I deeply admire the people who work so hard to save these animals. Fantastic video.

The duty of a Wildlife ranger or a wildlife conservationist is a remarkable thing. My heart melted after watching the cruelty of poachers. I am a nature lover and always have wanted to be a wildlife conservationist. We live in a world where crime against humanity goes unnoticed and unpunished and is very unfortunate in the existence of The United Nations and The International Court of Justice. Given the fact threats we humans are dealing with, it is unlikely that these beautiful and innocent creatures could make it through to the next century because they are defenseless, can't talk and speak to the world about the pain, sorrows, and difficulties they are dealing with, nor they can rage any protest. Individuals and groups working for wildlife conservation can't make an impact on a broader spectrum worldwide because they are few in number and have minimum resources in the ever-increasing greed of innocent wildlife. existence of wildlife could only be ensured when international organizations responsible for wildlife conservation and all the governments of the world collectively make a determined and consolidated effort. Problems for wildlife conservation highlighted in the documentary do not translate that one should not take part in this just cause.

Armed guards make a big difference. The problem is not that they are few. The problem is that most countries on the Planet do not have armed wildlife guards that are on active patrol, but they rely on secondary evidence, like phone records, witness and illegal trade to catch the poachers, but by then, the damage is done. The army could ( in theory ) solve this problem instantly, because it's better to be poor than dead. They should have tanks and attack helicopters on patrol. See how many that would poach then. I bet, not more than 5 people on the entire continent and they would all be dead in a week.

Thank you for your devotion and sacrifice to protect the Rhinos. Would the use of drones equipped with night vision cameras not help to catch these poachers???

Very beautiful mission, very nice with nature, but I didn't see anyone being arrested and who are the rich easterners? Do you have to report it, I saw a video promoting an alleged animal protection organization, but I didn't see anyone arrested? Not even the lion-killing horn!!

Not rich “Easterner”. They’re CCP Chinese. Yikes. It shows you are extremely ignorant and don’t know how much bigger the East actually is on earth, much bigger than the West. You don’t seem to be aware that these African continents belong to original African people. They were doing just fine until they were colonized by Westerners for centuries. Your westerner ancestors have officially hunted elephants down for ivory to be used as ornaments and instruments like piano keyboards for CENTURIES. Try going to museums even near you in Europe. Or if you don’t visit Louvre museum where you can see hundreds of biblical artifacts made of ivory of African elephants. I’ve seen them myself. Hundreds of them. Small and large ornaments. I’ve also played the pianos made of ivory as a child. They still exist to this day. And it’s westerners who are funding CCP China currently who is even killing their own people, corporate America greed is extreme. Tesla and Apple in China giving billions of deals making them rich still while they’re trying yo create a war AGAIN this time they would be left alone. We ain’t participating in their corrupt war. It’s funny you call this “Easterner” where you the westerners were the first to rip off these African nations to shreds and made them full of civil wars and devastations. And they’re NOT rich “Easterner” and Chinese aren’t occupying the whole East, just Communist China. I’m in the East and we don’t eat cats and dogs and believe in their ancient superstitions. They’re out of touch with reality. And that’s why many pandemic originated from CCP China.
