As an American, I visited South Africa for the first time (Feb 2024) and my experience may be different from the average tourist... I am blessed to have a wonderful woman in my life who is from South Africa and together we saw many things throughout the country. From a family wedding, visiting family and friends across the country, and spending most of our time on the farms and wilderness. The wildlife is definitely and obviously different but there are a lot of similarities in the culture I am familiar with. It has become very clear that the food is better! The grains and vegetables taste real, the meats taste like God intended and the variety is wonderful. The style of cooking is unique and traditional and the people are lively. We all definitely had a good time. I'm going to miss South Africa when I get home. My only problem was not knowing much Afrikaans. It's my own fault🤦 and will be learning more as time moves on. Although most can speak English, I missed a lot of chatty conversations amongst group gatherings.

Yes this is totally correct! Our food quality is very low! I grew up eating fresh fruits and veggies out of our garden and when I moved to university and started buying the produce at the stores, I was appalled at the quality of the produce :(. I’ve also lived abroad and traveled a fair amount and I’ve definitely noticed this about our food.

💯% true. I don't eat fast food. There is a HUGE difference between the USA and the EU as far as ingredients. Look at the fries at McDonald's USA vs England. England - potato, canola oil, salt. USA - ingredients I can't pronounce. Very few butcheries in the USA. In Central Europe they are everywhere, fish monger, cheese monger.

Went to New York a couple of months ago and was shocked at the poor quality of the food, don't want to say it tasted processed maybe manufactured
