I'm not against partners helping each other, financially, but some women go overboard. A man wanting to marry a woman must prove by working hard to save the lobola. If he can't afford to do that; he is not ready to get married. How can he contribute to household financial needs if he couldn't afford saving money for lobola?

I get your point but don't forget that helping someone is from the genuineness of your heart and it comes with blessing it's not about what the other person will do, if they betray you it's on them. Don't be afraid to help if you feel like doing it bcoz of fear of betrayal.

I don't that's really her story, she is probably narrating somebody's else's life story. The person messed up the moment she helped her man pay lobola, the guy stopped respecting her bcoz of dat.
