Even BlackPink was supposed to originally be a 9 member group. Their concept of being versatile (black and pink) takes direct inspiration from SNSD who were known as concept queens. Girls' Generation is a group that started without an official rapper. Their main dancer became the main rapper because she fits the tone and has the style. But she has great vocals too. Their dance line has improved on vocals and their vocal line are all main vocals at this point

I am a big fan of them, and Gee's song is what makes me really like SNSD until now.. They are a legendary Kpop girl group. They have also become an inspiration for many of the current generation's idols. No other kpop girlgroup has reach 16 years and still ad relevant in the industry a Girls' Generation, they are the textbook for all the girlgroups that we see today. I highly recommend you guys to watch 'The Boys' it came out in 2011 but still hits hard and 'you think' that came out in 2015 one of greatest and has the most insane vocals ever.

Gee is considered to be like the first viral video/song in the infancy of KZbin. It truly broke barriers. In fact, it's probably most people's first Kpop song because of said viralness. I can't imagine hearing about Kpop especially in the West since it wasn't as accessible when KZbin/streaming was just starting compared to now. SNSD, legends! You'll look at the numbers and think that they were just average but their impact is not measured through that.

Girls Generation paved the way for girl groups. They started a generation for ggs' that was dominated by boy groups back then, w/o SNSD you wouldnt be seeing these girl groups these days who grew up and dream of becoming idols bcoz of them.
