During the day its ok because there are lots of businesses in this immediate area, however after 8PM when almost all businesses are closed. You don't want to be anywhere near 149th Street between the Concourse and Bruckner Blvd with a group or alone. When you've lived in this area for over 40 years you know.

When addressing so-called "dangerous hoods" in The Bronx on KZbin, precision is essential. Casual generalizations can fuel misconceptions and provoke unnecessary conflict. For example, areas like Grand Concourse and 149th Street are often unfairly labeled as hazardous, while the real issues might be more prevalent in specific parts of the South Bronx or along Gun Hill Road, especially for those unfamiliar with the territory. Spreading inaccurate information not only misleads but also reinforces harmful stereotypes and stirs up tensions. It's critical to base your statements on solid facts and to respect the nuanced realities of different neighborhoods. Misinformation can cause real harm, so think carefully and research thoroughly before making claims about any community.

And everywhers i go i take the concrete jungle with me even ppl be like where you from cuz you not from here . Early 2000s and 90s i live it the best life out there no internet shit was just so different, jobs opportunities, rent was low, parties was different, the girls was different, mannnn i can go on. I left ny 5 years ago and i dont miss it at all cuz it was not the early 2000s and 90s after internet blew up everything shifted. So long ny i love you but i had to leave now i have a better quality life and good pay . Life its amazing after i left , ny i felt like i was in the backyard of a jail. This is what happens when a couple of well-known governors trick immigrants into thinking there is a job and home waiting for them in a beautiful place, but then end up in New York. New York welcomes immigrants, it always has. But it's already stressed to the max and trying to fit everyone in is going to get crappy. This is just a regular day in their lives, trying to learn how to survive in a new country, new city, new languages and customs... Everyone minding their own business, getting along without anger or prejudice. Saw this same area at night and had a similar reaction - it just didn't feel threatening. There will always be incidents everywhere. Always.

It was mine as well. I used to live right across from where there was an old yellow taxi station where Western Beef is now and IS 183 was one whole school. Also down the block from the taxi station there was a bread factory and they used to give a free bag of unsold fresh breads and bagels🥖🗽🥯

Pa ništa naročito za videti. Svugde isto, ljudi namrgođeni, zabrinuti, mile kao mravi napred, nazad. Sirotinja sirotuje, bogati bogatuju, život teče i tećićd i sa nama i bez nas i posle nas. Zgrade, malo drugačije ali opet su zgrade. Ljudi govore drugim jezicima, ko ih razume i ko ih ne razume, nebitno.

Spirituals, Ragtime, Jazz, Country, Gospel, Bluegrass, Folk, Rock n Roll, Doo-Wop, Soul, Funk, Disco, Punk, House and of course Rap and Hip Hop---all enjoy well documented African American roots coupled with undeniable Black American influence---whether directly or indirectly.. Latinos -- Puerto Ricans particularly -- please explain how you co-created or co-invented yet another installment in the legacy of Black Musical expression known as Rap and Hip Hop, yet didn't co-create or co-invent any of the elements or ingredients of the 14 or so African American music forms that preceeded it? Or why you were nowhere to be found and absent during the creative and inventive foundation outlining the forms of African American musical expression, brilliance and greatness throughout, or even prior to the previous 14 or so African American music forms that are mentioned above? Yet then, all of a sudden--and out of nowhere, lying latinos and jamaicans slither along and falsely claim latinos and/or puerto ricans and jamaicans co-created and co-invented Rap and Hip Hop 50/50 half n half (which is the evidence-free and utter nonsense being peddled by Dr. Derrick Colon, radical latino, Fat Joe and numerous other un-informed and envious latinos---which are claims that latinos never mentioned, verbalized or asserted during its inception in the early 1970's)---latinos claims of "50/50--half & half co-creation and co-invention just don't add up---it makes no sense and are increasingly coming under heavy scrutiny which is leading to these claims being easily debunked--widespread. Nice try though latinos, puerto ricans and jamaicans. Make it make sense Latinos..

Years ago the Concourse was the fifth avenue of the Bronx. Jewish people lived there lawyers dentists doctor I worked for a Doctor 1150 Grand Concourse Dr Samuel J Stein. He lived 1100 Grand Concourse. The place was spotless. Those people have moved when the place was dangerous. I lived there 1963. Came home one day we were robbed. They broke a metal fence but they came in they took everything. I miss my Grace Dodge high school ring. 10k gold cost me $15. My husbands Army bag was their suitcase. These were the two things they took not expensive but sentimental value. A new sewing portable machine a brand new church recorder. And so many things. I asked God to forgive them. Because he forgave us. These guys must be in their late 70 yrs or 80 yrs old now.
