I enjoyed looking at your video . So many of those old cars bring back good memories . Ole Studebaker's , Pontiac's , and others fill my memories . One that touched me was that blue Ford Falcon . My Dad bought the neighbor across the street's Blue 1962 Falcon ....Non Running . For my first car for $25 , back around 1970 . I can remember handing him tools every week end in our garage when I could barely walk . He showed me what each tool was , and the wrench and socket sizes , and had me hand them to him as he was always under a car that he bought to fix , and sell . LOL....I still remember an old Rambler with the push button Tranny , as it was the first time I ever heard him cuss LOL....He Hated that car & swore he'd never buy another ! Any way ....I followed my Dad's instructions & helped tune up that Falcon , and we had it running in a day for about another $20 ...LOL... The neighbor was so mad , he wanted it back & my Dad said "You sold it to me because you thought it was a piece of junk." and now that I fixed it up for my sons first car , You want it back ? Sorry , can't do it ...LOL. It had the ole straight six , and I think it only had 60-80 Horse power , it had a manual pull out choke & if I wanted to accelerate in to the expressway traffic . I had to gun it , and pump that choke , LOL ...but I loved that car .

Another fun video. In my younger days I spent many hours in junkyards looking for parts and just enjoying the old cars. Sometimes I would find some factory go fast goodies. I got into several private yards which were great. Sadly all the old good yards are gone now. On the old Ford Y-blocks if memory serves me right the 292 had the exhaust crossover in front of the engine and the 272 didn't. I think the one you showed in the early part of the video was a 272. That little Chevy II wagon you showed would make a sweet little drag car. I always liked wagons because they were easy to get the weight transfer right. I look forward to your next video and hope your machine shop bill is not thru the ceiling..

+indyme2 You are right about the FE series engines they are getting scarce..The mighty 427 is really hard to find. Remember the cammer? 427 SOHC? When I was a poor teenager I had a local racer offer me one for $800 the problem was I was a pump jockey and didn't have the money. Think what it would be worth now. I sold a 390 GT engine for $300. Websters garage is probably different than other junkyards you have seen. If it arrived, it is in the yard. Everything from street sweepers to landfill bulldozers were there. Not many cars were worth saving as many have been sitting 20+ years in the woods with no doors or engine. The organization of the yard is a sight to see in itself, there is none. Personally I am looking around for a 1971 or 1972 Ford LTD with a 390 in it, or perhaps a 1971 to 1974 Maverick AND (not with) a 351 Windsor small block to stuff in it!! Further I would be interested in a 1976 to 1978 Ford Granada as well, or any station wagons from roughly 1964 to 1975 that is pretty much ANY MAKE AND MODEL as long as it is "large as life", though you would REALLY peak my interest in 1965 to 1975 (or even a 1976) Chevy Station Wagon or a Ford Country Squire Wagon as well, but like I say I would even entertain owning an old Mopar (Dodge Plymouth or Chrysler) or Rambler or even anything from Buick, Oldsmobile or Pontiac as well IF IT WAS A STATION WAGON!!! Heck even the Chevy II or Falcon station wagons had what I would consider a "cool factor" as well too!!
@indyme25 жыл бұрын
Station wagons are HOT, Greg. Seeing more at car shows and one actually won peoples choice at the last show I attended. Never thought I would see the day but it has arrived. 4 door cars are getting popular too. I think the rear wheel drive has something to do with it. People don't like the look alike little gas sippers that are boring as crap. The president of a car club I am a member of has a station wagon drag car and he just restored a 4 door Plymouth with a big block. So, you are thinking correctly as it appears to me. PS: I would love to have an early Chevy 2 wagon or Falcon wagon myself. Thanks for leaving us a comment and sharing your thoughts!

If only scrap, it would be in the hundreds of thousands but with that many of the same years there are millions of dollars if just made to run on their own power. That one 58 green ford with four barrel carb was a 352 interceptor car with 11 to 1 compression. I bought one new and there was no way to record how fast it went cause it buried the speedometer and it stayed buried for a while. My dad stole the heads of it for his boss's truck and it woke it up like right now and it only had a two barrel on it. They were whining about the way it ran and I said you should of took the whole motor cause they are rare so the did and his boss Bob Johnson could start in second gear an grab third gear rubber... no more crying and I got some money for the motor. I was sad cause there was not a scratch in that car till they took the motor out so I let it go
@indyme25 жыл бұрын
I always liked a 58 Ford. Wish I could rescue this one but I am over loaded on projects now. I bet the 352 with a 4 barrel was quick. My 57 with a 312 was pretty good but a 352 would surely blow mine away. Thanks for sharing your story.

I wonder If any of the people that owned these cars or had bought them new are still alive, and would they be shocked or happy to know these cars still exist. that they are not crushed and melted down into Chinese junk. Made by people who have no pride and just care about making trash and sucking money from stupid Americans that want a quick fix. I'm not rich enough to buy cheap shit twice. Given a choice, I buy American regardless of the price . They need to be saved ,one at a time because they're our history. ...So on a side note, I wonder how many of these cars someone got laid in.... I bet no one thought about that. Did ya? These are memories that need to be saved!

The people in the Carolina's have in the shade, that many cars and for sale too. Was I a millionaire, I would buy most all the best with a contingency to buy the rest. I would park them near a river and use a fire hose and get the heavy scum off. Underneath of that pine needle scum is gold and some of the finest kind as they all have their moments back in the day and could again from all the donor cars, I ain't afraid of it. From mighty fine to rat rods come car shows and people. I would take them to high schools and see what they could turn them to. Modern cars are just take offs of old school. What a blessing. Since they are for sale, they could be fixed on. Please give me your thoughts as I do kindly wait for an answer
