Caitlin, Kate, Gabbie, Hannah, Molly, Addison, Sydney, Kylie and Coach Bluder brought us the beautiful game of basketball played with intelligence, flow, and flare and earned greatness organically while also exhibiting great citizenship and charity as great role models. But no. The media is leading a hive mind of people to reject the Iowa way in favor of a system that rewards competition killing stacking of super teams with top recruits, who can now be bought out of high school or a portal forming semi-pro teams under narcissistic coaches who enable player misbehavior, bullying and violence. Worst of all these so-called fans of WOMEN'S basketball try to lay claims to the historic gains (every top record + 5X viewership) made by Caitlin and the Iowa way. Championship week saw fans of the non-sporting super teams either pile on to or make excuses for the outright racism and misogyny directed at the Iowa girls this week. The vitriol and bigitry surpassed even that which Tiger Woods suffered because, in the 90s, we overwhelmingly buoyed Tiger above this while together drowning out the gatekeepers. Caitlin Clark, her teammates, coach Bluder, their families, and the people of Iowa showed us a beautiful, exciting, and uplifting- for-all-way. Kaitlyn Clark has been our Canary in the cultural coal mine and the poison is just too much for the best of us, let alone the rest of us. Since we are seeing the majority of the media and the fans of the sport-killing-teams cheering against fairness, talent, and beauty we will go our own way - back to supporting girls in our state, in fair competition built organically and with parity. All of these haters can then be freed of record-crushing white girls in a flyover state and from having to face such horrible examples every day. The remaining fans can once again enjoy paid for championships being lost in the obscurity of the nobody-cares-rings of the unsporting and back to blaming a mythical racism and misogyny as cover for theirs which destroys the sport
