@dayonedad I just recently watched this for the very first time and while certain parts were difficult to watch(my biological father was not, nor has he ever been, in my life and I was in legal trouble for several years of my adult life which, if I hadn't been given a second chance, would have put me in prison for decades, possibly the rest of my life), this is a film which does NOT get the credit and recognition it deserves but nevertheless is still a film which NEEDS to be seen and discussed by a wider audience and needs to be shown in all junior high/high schools. Edit: Fun fact-"South Central" was based on the 1987 fiction novel "The Original South Central LA Crips" by Donald Bakeer who had taught high school in South Central LA.

The early 90s had so many powerful messages in these movies about the community and how we should make attempts to fix what was and is broken. 💯 But they don't get talked about enough. They sure as hell ain't makin em today
@TheKurgain

It gets talked about and the people who do the talking are called disparaging names and laughed at. The message is nothing new. Everyone knows what needs to happen, but it's easier to blame others than look in the mirror and be the change.

Yep that guilty conscience was doing all his talking and he knew him not being there for his son played a big role but he didn’t want to admit he was at fault. It’s easier to pass the blame than to take accountability for your decisions.

*Boyz N The Hood* is the story that displays what happens to a son when a strong father and mother is there guiding him through life in the tough part of America (despite having 'some' bad influences surrounding him). *Menace ll Society* displays the results of a son's life who has had a majority of bad influences surrounding him, despite the small window of opportunity to save his life. *South Central* shows us the origins of a son's life; 'the new cycle' beginning with 'the father'. And most importantly, it shows how the father decided to change his wrong ways for the sake of the son. Very interesting how all of these films came out the next year after the other: *Boyz N the Hood (1991), South Central (1992), & Menace ll Society (1993).*

Antwann. Two of my cousins, both identical twin brothers, grew up with both of their parents in the home. My uncle was a Korean War Veteran and a Correction Officer. My aunt worked with Special Education children. The family was involved in the church. Sadly, my cousins constantly got into trouble with the law, in and out of prison, dishonorably discharged from the military, etc. Even if you do have a two-parent household, there is no guarantee that your children will be good, upstanding citizens. My cousins are an example. Another example is Donald John Trump.

What about when they trying by just being around because they don't have any income or hustle but looking for or waiting for a job to call🤔 There are some men who have moved on but want to see their kids but they can't🤔 Like OG Bobby Johnson there are so many men in jail with sons and daughters running wild in the streets but Jesus is a God of 2nd chances..To all fathers who are not in the picture or have a new life with someone new..pray for financial help so that you can do all that you can do for your child❤ Blessings to all fathers who are in their childrens lives as stressful as it may be from time to time you are *GREATLY NEEDED DAILY AND APPRECIATED for your presence,love and stength...never have doubts when you're always there...God bless Fathers all around the world I LOVE YOU🫡
