South L.A. woman wants end to K-9 units after vicious attack

A South Los Angeles woman has filed a lawsuit and is demanding the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department disband its K-9 unit after she was attacked by one of their dogs.

K-9 officers are some of the most well trained canines, they're not vicious fight dogs these people illegally breed in their backyard. What's the back story on what triggered the K-9 officer to bite this lady?

Where is the body camera? I trained the PD K-9 units and the dogs I worked with would bite and not bite on command. The could be in a sprint and be called off and they obeyed. I am curious if the dog was a GS or malinois, or other breed. I am afraid of big dogs and I would take bites with a sleeve from GS. 💯 she should be compensated if it happened like she said. However the K-9 unit serves a purpose greater than bite payouts. I am curious if the handler was using the dog within policy. There is more to this story.

I've seen videos where the police are definitely too quick to release the dog. There's no need for the police to release the dog on the woman if she had opened the door and was talking to the police.
