I love the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood, not a bad idea to have steak lunch on Sunday. Stay safe and stay blessed, my friend!

I remember Croydon in the 1970's, 1980's, 1990's, 2000's and up until 2015. I moved away late 2015, early 2016. I remember there were 3 or 4 cinema's lots of nightclubs, great superstores, Allders, Debenham's and Grants. Lots of restaurants. Scott's Dine and Dance. Lots of offices and office workers. All changed now. I expect due to home working, the banking crisis of 2007 and lockdowns.

I grew up in Croydon from 0-2 and 4/5-12. Definitely different from when I visited 8-9 years later

I moved from Los Angeles to London UK in 2004. Moved back to Los Angeles in 2015, idk what it is about 🇬🇧 but I miss it. I’m spoiled here by good weather but I do miss taking a walk in the old country.

Left Croydon for Ohio in 1996 when I was 10 yrs old. Used to be magic. Not been back since but when I get there I'll be doing this walk.

This town, is coming like a ghost town. Croydons gone down & Brixtons gone back up 😂🤣😂🤣

The Whitgift Centre project is apparently still going ahead but won't start until 2025 and may not be complete until 2038. 'The revised scheme, when it is finally unveiled, is likely to include “thousands” of flats in the town centre. It will be 30 times more than was ever proposed in the first couple of iterations of the Westfield plans'

Croydon will have its day again. So much space for entertainment, restaurants and modern retail. With Croydon being absolutely stuffed full of people now. Big blocks of flats, houses everywhere, means 1000’s of potential customers could be lured in. The investors will come eventually. It’s a shame Westfield didn’t get hold of it.

With all the people that live in Croydon and the surrounding areas, there is no reason for it to be so desolate with so many vacant shops. So sad to see it like this!
