It’s practically impossible not to have heard Elton John’s music in the past 50 years. Candle in the Wind, Tiny Dancer, Crocodile Rock, Saturday Night, Levon, Your Song, Circle of Life (The Lion King theme), I’m Still Standing… could list another 30 songs that have been radio hits, appeared in movies/television etc. As for DMX and ODB not appearing in the episode, they did guest vocals on the Ozzy Osborne song titled, “Ain’t Nowhere to Run”. They got clipped out of the song in the episode, but if you listen to the full version off the Chef-Aid album, you wouldn’t miss them.

I was so annoyed at the Chewbacca defense. Because Chewbacca DOES NOT LIVE ON ENDOR. They never even visit endor. They visit endor’s forest moon. But still he was there for 3 days tops. More like 2. He could have said Chewbacca speaks in grunts, but Han solo understands him, THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. Atleast than it was somewhat lore accurate. I do however, as a giant oj trial fan, love the johnny cochran refrence. A very interesting case. Seinfeld also does a great parody. But Cochran spend most his life defending actually innocent black people. Kind of sad he is remembered for getting oj of. He was a great man and an incredible lawyer.

They released a full Chef Aid album after this episode. It had several of the artists from the episode and included lots of previous South Park songs and new ones. Primus did a song on it that gave a definitive backstory to Kevin, that little weird guy that always follows Mephisto around.

To this day I still have my copy of “Chef Aid” The Album but it doesn’t work anymore. Prior to this episode airing there was a mock documentary based on “Behind The Music” called: “Behind The Menu” which features a few of the artists featured on this episode including Issac Hayes. Also a music video of one of the songs from the album: “Kenny’s Dead” sung by Master P and Chef. Definitely check it out for fun when you got some free time.
