I don't consider these early episodes to be Wendy's darker side, I think they just retconned her character. She's been pretty consistent ever since April Stewart took over the role in season 8. "The Hobbit" in the season 17 has the whole school gaslighting Wendy, telling her she's a jealous hater, in "Bebes boobs destroy Society" in season 6 Wendy actually acts like a jealous hater, more realistically than in this episode.
