South Park didn't make fun of him, coz he isn't a pretentious douche like most celebrities. He's a genuine guy that just helps ppl. He isn't full of annoying egotistical traits that are usually picked on by the creators.

Cartman's mother has a serious void in her life. She is using her son to fill that void, but it is unhealthy for her and her son. People do the same with pets, food, alcohol, the list goes on infinitely. The show creators not only nailed Cesar's training, they nailed the deeper issue that brokenness perpetuates brokenness.
@charliefen
@charliefen Жыл бұрын
Completely agree! I do wish they would do an episode more focused on her where she becomes more independent and stands up to him. They have sort of touched on that in recent episodes, mainly with her giving in to something that she knew would backfire on him (living in a hotdog), although that didn’t really benefit her. The closest she has come to that is in the Streaming Wars, where she refuses to get breast enhancement surgery and calls his bluff by letting him get it himself.

Also if I’m remembering right the creators Matt and Trey when having guest stars on the show they prefer that the guest star isn’t voicing themselves necessarily. It wasn’t just disappointment. It seemed like Cesar actually got a little choked up with sadness when he told us how the same thing often happens with his clients, that some people just don’t have the fortitude to keep doing what’s best for their dog. It must be painful for someone who dedicates their whole life to helping dogs, and then to watch clients flush all their hard work and progress down the drain and go right back to their old ways. And knowing the dog will suffer as a result and it’s out of Cesar’s hands.

As an autistic person with a serious passion for dog training, I was very interested in Milan's methods for addressing dog behavior, and the importance for becoming the dominant pack leader no matter what. I wasn't sure about his personality however, and I presumed he was a bit arrogant or cocky from his rise in fame and acclaim as an extremely successful animal behaviorist, but watching this video, seeing Cesar react to Matt and Trey's parody gave me a completely different impression of Cesar! I think it is more like it is very recognisable for him and he has to deal with it in a pleasant way - to keep his customer happy. But he must also remain distant. I guess this was his guilty pleasure; he'd wish he could react like that ;)

Trey Parker said in the DVD commentary for this episode that he loved the Cesar Milan show and always binge watches his show. And it definitely shows in this episode because they’re not “making fun” of Cesar Milan or his show, but more honoring his show and how effective Cesar’s methods are.

Over the years I have watched a LOT of South Park. And this episode stands as one of my absolute favorites. Not only for what happened with Cartman's training like a dog but how they didn't make a mockery of Cesar rather just portrayed him and his lessons as we know them. A pretty big deal when a show built its fan base and fame out of making a mockery of basically everybody.
