You’d be surprised. My dad’s aunt invested money in the 1980’s at some crazy high rate compared to what any bank will offer you these days! She didn’t have any children. My dad was the only person who took care of her(my mom and I traveled with him as he would tend to her affairs as power of attorney). When she passed away, she left her savings to him. Over half a million dollars!

The story of Job is such a twisted story IMO. It basically comes down to god torturing a poor guy just to win a trivial argument with the devil...best case scenario the devil tricked god to torture one one for no good reason (so much for omnipotence 🤣)
@FreaKinApe
@FreaKinApe 2 жыл бұрын
yeah , it's harsh , even Job got a lot more still his family members and so many more have been gambled away . i guess the main motive of the story is to tell no matter how bad life gets we just have to go forward and keep believing (in this case in God) but in general have faith with oneself .
@thefourshowflip

@@FreaKinApe True, and that’s the charitable interpretation I take from the story (the good lesson here I suppose is Job’s perseverance) but I always found it funny how in order to get that message, the “author(s)” of the story had to throw god under the bus…because he comes out looking like a petty asshole because he wanted to show Job how puny, ignorant and insignificant Job was compared to himself (and I can’t help but wonder why an all knowing, all powerful, benevolent being would care if some insignificant little shit was being arrogant or whatnot…it’s such a petty human characteristic…and even as humans we don’t care what an ant thinks of us-to contemplate such a scenario wouldn’t even occur to us as something worth the effort of thinking about it…idk it just never made sense to me when I started digging into this story even a bit 🤷‍♂️)

This is what I love about this episode, whether religious or not, this happens in a lot in life where some things you perceive as good may just do as much harm as you could imagine. Many people lose faith in God or elsewhere when they don't get their prayers or wishes granted when they don't realize what is better for them or awaits for them. There is a lot of reasons for this. Sometimes good things happen to bad people maybe so they can reform themselves. Sometimes it happens to show people that this world is not a perfect world where can just expect to get what we demand where good leads to good and bad to bad despite the general trend. Sometimes bad things have to happen for good things to happen. Cartman could have done special things with that money but instead spent it on the park with which he used to brag to everyone and he thought that the park was everything and would satisfy him in everything but due to his arrogance, hatred, etc he didn't realize that perhaps that park wasn't really something meant for him which is what Kyle learns in the end leading to him restoring his faith in God. Sometimes what we like is what we should get because it could do more harm than expected. Some bad things might be blessings in disguise.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can objectively look at the bible and want to worship the god it describes. They say the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist, but wouldn't the greatest trick, actually be convincing people that you are god??? Given what a horrible, genocidal, narcissistic, petty and murderous cunt the being is in the bible, I'm not the least bit convinced that the being described as god isn't actually in fact, Lucifer, that is if I actually believed any of this nonsense.

To be fair they let out the part where God gave him even more riches and children as a reward after proving his point to Satan. But yeah, the story is messed up. The children and workers all died and will never come back. They were all killed over a really stupid bet. Christians might argue that it's not so bad because they probably got to heaven and have a better eternal life there. But it still doesn't change the fact that God in the old Testament commits several genocides during a hissy fit.

Actually for white people in the United States who worked in the 40s-70s it was easy to become low end rich. My grandfather was in the navy for a while then worked his entire life at Michelin tires and my grandmother was a nurse. When I was a kid they had $3 million in the bank. My parents were poor because they would not follow the extremely conservative/racist /sexist ideas that my grandparents held. Back then minimum wage was enough to support a full family and by support that also means buying a home and buying a car every decade or so. It's been over a decade since our minimum wage was adjusted for inflation (federally) so technically it's lower now than it was 10 yrs ago. Even when they did adjust it after the 70's it was not as much as inflation. Did not do much research into the 70's and before so maybe the 70's were when it was starting to be less than inflation.

Doctor Mike reacted to the clip at 16:14 which was included in a compilation. He said something about an Internal and External Haemorrhoid: The Internal Haemorrhoid is the one that could spread if untreated; if it forms near the lungs, and it spreads, yes you could in fact die - I could be wrong - but it doesn’t hurt. Then there’s the External Haemorrhoid, which Kyle has, and it hurts like a bitch; although I don’t think that this haemorrhoid spreads

I'm pretty sure that unless a child is emancipated that all inheritance that would be in a large sum of money or something like that or an estate would be handled by a guardian of some kind it could be the parent it could be an uncle it could be the whoever legally takes care of the child.

In the bible got also convinced people to sacrifice their own kids. Yeah one or two God stopped the sacrifice and said they just wanted to see you would be willing although that seems like that being would have some mental problems... I mean the being created both in question and asking one creation to end another that is also it's creation in a way and in a way apart of the first creation. Personally if I were God I would reward those who are unwilling to end the life of their own relatives.

If rich people do actually believe the poor should pull themselves up by their bootstraps then ban inhabitants and give people guaranteed basic income that comes from taxing the rich the amount they should be taxed (idk about India however here some billionaires effectively pay $0 in taxes) and from taxing AI taking human jobs. At $2000/month without inflation from 18-90 they would get 1.7million assuming they never get an income/savings high enough to kick them off. Assuming they have a better education, better health, and more connections you would think it would not be a big deal. Oh and inheritance other than a family home or such forth would goto GBI as well as taxing the rich what they should be taxed.

I hate to burst your bubble however the majority ruling families in the world took centuries to lose their ill gained wealth. Many of them yes maybe one or two individuals did end up losing their life because of their ill gained wealth however usually there was a relative that gained even more ill gained wealth and started a company and their family is still Rich today. Jeff bezos seems to be getting richer and richer even though having a company where employees have to pee and poop while standing while doing work and work themselves to the point of exhaustion and you have an extremely high turnover rate because people just can't do the job for long... Yeah that doesn't sound like he got that wealth honorably... Having small businesses sell their products and then copy the products that sell really well and sell it for $2 less so that you can destroy mom and pop shops that used your business as a last lifeline whenever Walmart and other companies like that we're taking over the country/planet... Also I'll go ahead and say that over a certain amount of money there is no possible way for you to get that amount of money honorably.
