This episode parodies a few movies: Scanners (telekinetic fighting between psychics), The Dead Zone (solving murders by seeing visions and walking with a cane), Red Dragon (the serial killer taping Cartman to the chair and asking “do you see?”), and When the Bough Breaks (the killer cutting off people’s left hands). I’m sure I’m probably forgetting a reference somewhere but those are the main ones.

I always thought Manhunter (1986) was the serial killer taping Cartman to chair reference.

@@romangunter621 Manhunter did come before the Red Dragon movie and the story was similar minus some of the more explicit details of the murders. It’s because they were both based on the book “Red Dragon” and contain different versions of that same scene. I’m not really sure exactly which one they were spoofing.

@@FreaKinApe That's the second one/most famous because it introduced Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal. Most people don't even know Manhunter exists, and iirc the Red Dragon remake wasn't out til 2001. RD is worth a watch, I prefer it to Silence but I'm an Ed Norton fan.

I guess I somehow missed this episode or the part with the bus driver. I was wondering what happened to her. Yes, the lady that did her voice and the many of the female voices killed herself around season 3. Actually it was when the monkey phonics episode was about to air. But they have other women that sound pretty good to. I don't know if the bus driver came back after the voice actor died. But a lot of the women did. Even Wendy was played by her.
