It's interesting that in the King's Speech, the speech therapist encourages the king to swear in order to help his stuttering. Swearing just seems to come more naturally to people, even kids.
@therabbitfollower55507 ай бұрын
It’s because swearing requires less brainpower to do- it’s more of an impulse. That’s a big reason why the hypothesis “swearing is correlated positively with honesty/integrity” is a fairly common one.

The fact that she’s hesitant to swear at first shows that they have explained to her that it’s only okay to say them when she’s with her dad at work, even her saying “I think I need to be a little bigger” shows that she’s aware kids aren’t usually allowed to do what she’s doing. And that alone shows some god-tier parenting on their end.
@Rattlsnke3 жыл бұрын
It is sad to see the people criticizing this heartwarming family. Her loving father holding and hugging her, her clearly so happy, as they read a script together. The mother standing by, proud of them both. She is lucky to grow up in a good home with good parents, many of us aren’t so lucky and a lot of Hollywood parents fall in with that lot.
@abcdefgh-fb5ny3 жыл бұрын
this is way more effective than prohibitting the use of curse words at all, bcs this way the children knows what it means, and how it can correctly be used/the right context to use it in. if you just forbid your children to curse at all, when they discover curse words, they’ll be using it all the time behind your back cus it’s rebellious

This reminds me so much of me and my dad. He and I share a sense of humor, style, attitude, habits and interests. I love him so much, and seeing this sweet father-daughter moment makes me really happy. I owe so much to my dad for raising me the way he did. He raised me to curse when I got hurt. He raised me to spit in the face of people who look down at me. He raised me to do what I loved. He raised me to kick some ass if it was necessary. He raised me to help my friends. He raised me to be strong in such a weak world. He raised me to give respect only when it’s given back. He raised me to believe what I wanted. He raised me right. And I can’t thank him enough for that.

Fuck off dude. In fact by reading the comments most people here seem to disagree because it is in fact hilarious as fuck. I am not saying you have to teach YOUR kids to curse but leave others alone. There's worse shit going on in this world than something like that. Kids learn those words anyway and it's usually the kids whos parents are overly strict about it who use them the most in the end. Swearing is funny as long as it isn't directed towards someone specific or meant in a serious way and you can't deny that it is for some reason an important part of every language and it's one of the first things you pick up after "Hello" and "Thank you" when learning a new language. I am German and i can swear in English, Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese, Russian and Turkish, don't know why but those words stick. So pull the stick out of your ass.
