One of my favorite reoccurring elements in South Park is Stan being aware of the soundtrack and knowing the story is forcing him to do something. Its a nice bit of 4th wall breaking that also adds to the story.

This episode was inspired by the time Trey Parker and Matt Stone went to see the movie You Got Served at the Magic Johnson Theater in Inglewood here in Los Angeles. This article I read a while ago stated that the 2 guys couldn't believe how triteful and predictable the movie was. The article concluded with this: "The film sucked, but there were loads of people dancing in the aisles"

when this episode came out there was all these you got served movies that were coming out at the time. so they decided to make fun of that but what's funny is the dance movie craze hadn't really picked up yet so this episode was really ahead of its time. because like 2 years after this episode came out that movie step up came out and it really just blew the entire craze up even more to the mainstream. and people on the fan forums were telling them to make fun of that movie and they were like "dude we made fun of that movie like 2 years ago didn't you guys didn't see it, it was called you got f'd in the a" ah yes the South Park studios fan forums Good times, good times. back when Matt and Trey and the other creators and animators used to communicate with the fans through the forums and the message boards.
