Who eats Chinese food on Christmas, you ask. One answer is many Jewish people. Christmas is not a Jewish holiday, so many would want to eat out just like on any other non-holiday day and back in the 19th century Chinese restaurants were often the only restaurants open that day, and Chinese immigrant communities were often near Jewish immigrant communities. So after a few years it became a secular tradition.

Actually, many non-orthodox Jewish families eat Chinese at Christmas. I converted to Judaism many years ago and when I was still married we went to eat Chinese on Christmas every year.
