Oh man! April was a busy month down here at the South Pole! With all kinds of things ranging from big South Pole happenings like covering the windows, personal milestones like my "Halfway Day", events like Yuri's Night, and much more, it was a really great, action packed month! I am currently living and working at the South Pole Station through the United States Antarctic Program. I am not down here as a filmmaker or photographer, but instead work in the Logistics and Supply department. All of these videos are being made during my free time and not during working hours. We are very busy down here keeping the station running at maximum efficiency, but I have managed to find some free time to make these short movies!

Hi, I'm sorry, I haven't been watching you enough yet to catch your name. I'm fascinated by the way you explain your life in Antarctica. I watch a lot of KZbin and you are really are very good. Your sense of awe strikes a real chord with me. I would definitely feel the same way if I was there watching the Aurora Borealis. Or just the dark of the Antarctic night. Loving your videos, for some reason I'm absolutely fascinated by Antarctica and everything that goes on there. So your videos are so insightful and interesting. Anyway I have a couple of questions, how often can you contact your friends and family back home? Is the internet regularly connected? And what time zone does Antarctica cover, as I'm guessing the whole continent covers all the time zones? Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching. Karen.

When I was there I walked in a circle around the Geographic South Pole marker, but it took me like an hour. i had to stop and change my watch every two feet.

Fantastic look at life at the south pole station. I think the NASA psych research makes sense because a winter at the south pole is probably the most accurate analogue of a trip to Mars. Months long, hostile (but beautiful) environment outside, and dark.

I have always wanted to work down in Antarctica. But, what is the optimal time period to apply for a job down there. I have applied to be a vehicle operator. How likely is it to get one of those positions? I had a friend who spent a couple of tours down there when they were in the military. The stories he told sounded so funny.

Hey Viktor, great video. I've got a couple of questions for you. Is that the McMurdo Station or the Amundsen-Scott Station? Or some other station? Did you arrive on a C-130? Are there flights on or out during the winter months? What is the coldest temperature that you have measured during the winter? You posted this video in 2019. So I imagine you left by now. Every time you open a door to get outside, just for peeking, I freak out because I imagine the door locking up on you, leaving you out at -70. Please tell me there's no locks on these doors in order to let anyone in in a hurry ?

Great video again Viktor and to be honest, this one is more revealing and introspective. And I liked that. You might think it's mundane but given half a chance, plenty of people would like to trade your South Pole adventures. I'm just curious as to how to do spend your free time there - if there are any? On a different video, I saw the gyms and the music room. How is the internet like and how much news in the rest of the World was you able to consume when you're down there? I work in security, you say you can tell who is who, even in their poofy outfits. Same goes in security, I see people on so many cameras, that off/on camera, even far away I can identify a lot of people also. It has to do with how they move around, what they do wear, and their general shape of their body. Your videos are cozy/campy, just the idea that you can't leave until it warms up, makes me feel that way about the South Pole.

Nice video but really unfortunate you don't show all your twitter pictures and instagram pictures in the video. I don't like having to follow multiple platforms. Also this was now like a couple years ago and all the twitter stuff is long lost as it's only a snapshot in time and rather difficult to go back in time.
