My Grandfather drew for me, in the fall of 1980, a layout of the lake bottom homes prior to the dam. He built a farm and lived on the bottom with his family near Hihill Creek (His Spelling) and Bush River Road before the Dam. He is showing the homes of George Derrick and Charlie Derrick near the intersection of Bush River Road and the Road to Chapin (from Lexington). Very close to the Wyse Ferry across the Saluda River. George was 3 miles west of the intersection on Bush River Road and Charlie was 3 miles north of the intersection on the road to Chapin.

There's a George Derrick Road off Hwy 321 towards Swansea. Wonder if it's named after the same guy.
