My tomatoes done good but the plants never looked good. I had a bad start with 24d getting on them so I replanted then with all the local corn fields around I believe they got something on them again. But they made tomatoes.

Amazing all the processes you have to go through, polle don't appreciate this when we see people selling their own products, I know you are not selling them but at craft fairs or farmers markets, now we can appreciate all the hard work that goes into this. Another really interesting show Eddie thank you so much for this, take care please stay safe and as always God bless you and yours sir .

LOVE your channel, darlin'. June 27th is my birthday, btw. I'm moving to "middle of nowhere" TX this month if the Good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise. I plan on planting a bunch of tomatoes next year once I get settled, so I truly appreciate this video.

Pecos, Birth place of the Rodeo! Pecos also has The Best Cantaloupes!!! My husband was out West in 2018. He hauled out of Odessa, Big Spring, Crane and hated when he had to go to Pecos because nothing is there. You drive or work pipeline?

There's enough acidity in home grown tomatoes. All tomatoes have about the same acidity it's the sweetness that changes drastically. Which tricks your tastebuds into thinking it's not acidic. They test canning recipes based on store bought tomatoes that are picked green that's why they say you need to add lemon juice. I use canning recipes as a suggestion.
@papawsplace3 жыл бұрын
That is what my mom and Grandma always did and it didn't kill any of us. 😉

@@papawsplace Did you eat a lot of home canned foods? I'm the first in three generations to get back into it. From what I understand the new guidelines are rushed experiments done once every few years so I'd much rather go with old, tried and true recipes. It's what makes sense to me. I don't leave the rings on and that's the biggest risk for botulism. I'm taking calculated risks.
@papawsplace3 жыл бұрын
All the time, my mom and mother-in-law always did the canning. Now I'm the canner that my mother-in-law has passed and my mom is not able to can like she use to. But I leave rings on, I just feel safer that way. Each is to there own when it come to that kind of stuff. That's why I try to follow the ball canning book and go from there.
