It appears that Matilda was responsible for not only a loss, but also exposing Razer to significant damage in one of its early appearances including getting its internals torched because Matilda flipped it on its side. Almost seems to have carried a grudge with the team announcing the intent to tear through Matilda’s armor in a subsequent season, and then thoroughly dismantling what eventually became the first boy to actually do so, for denying Razer of the honor of doing it first.

Razer won so many matches due to excellent driving rather than having an op machine. Those that copied the design got no where, yet those who had similar weapons to hypnodisc did pretty well. Not to say it's a bad robot, but its success is largely down to the prowess of its pilots.

+madcat789 It's happened a lot actually, one of the funniest was Firestorm vs Panic Attack, Robot Wars Extreme 2 Commonwealth Carnage, after Panic Attack went down, while the House focused on it, Firestorm came outta nowhere, flipped Sgt Bash, then after a bit of cat and mouse.....FLIPPED MR PSYCHO. Mr Psycho is the heaviest robot of the series, he's literally four times the max weight limit of all bots and stands taller than the average human (he's 6'2), yet Firestorm flipped him, that was awesome.

Y'know, I haven't RW in a very long time. What was the rule on projectile weapons? Not nets and shit - I built my own robot, walker, modeled after the Centurion from Battletech. it launches high velocity metal pellets and has a powerful claw in the left hand. It falls over, quite easily. Could I, in that time, enter the Centurion v3 in the competition? Camera on the rifled hand would've let me see what's going on.

madcat789 Ball bearings and anything that may compromise traction on the ground or be pulled into the mechanics of a robot via the weapons are banned. As such, that basically extends to any form of projectiles as all of them have a chance at compromising traction. Plus, having a walkerbot with two legs is suicide full stop.

True, and that thing is damn slow. That's why I included failsafes in the event of it toppling over, and kept everything vital in it's head. It stands at like, 3'2'' and weights four hundred pounds? Pretty heavy thing to actual move about.

Razer is bad ass, no matter the bot size, he can always shove his big knife in bots and tear a big hole in their circuits and body except if it's a big armored mech

It would have trouble trying to pierce small yet armored robots such as something like tombstone. While that bot is from a completely different series, anyone could have easily be inspired by that design and make something to counter razer. Otherwise, razer is extremely competitive.

I remember when this was aired! Me and my mate loved it! Shame they didn't have a go at the other house robots. I often wondered if the onslaught and razer had discussed getting matilda before the round. They play a bit, then onslaught goes in the CPZ to distract matilda so that razer could destroy her. Razer was one badass robot, a long with Ciaos 2 and hypmodisc ( spelling)

This was 100% agreed with the producers beforehand - you can see in this fight from some shots that they attached rags to the bottom of Matilda that were soaked in paraffin to set her on fire! She needed a total rebuild for her Series 5 upgrades anyway, so they were happy to let the old one go down like this

Actually, this was a slight setup. the razer team agreed to take matilda out of comission, since she was in dire need of repairs. her interior was filled with oil soaked rags... and then everyone went down town on her. Check the Razer Vs RICK video for more info. Vinsteroid was one of the makers of Razer. still, this was an awesome battle.

This was actually planned. Since Matilda was going to be overhauled and get a flywheel, they asked team Razer if they won to lay into Matilda. They even put flammable material in her and deliberately parked Matilda over a fire grate. It's also why the house robots didn't interfere much. As much as I love it to be real, it isn't.

Still though,im sure razer is fully capable of taking on matilda. razer is really strong, not only does it have really strong defenses, it also has that strong beak/stinger, it can crush through almost any robot that has ever been shown on robot wars, the fact that it can go through it decides the win. thats how razer's battles go, if it can penetrate it will most likely walk away with the victory

+BlockAps The House Robots haunt the corners of the arena (Corner Patrol Zones/CPZ) and attack any 'bot unfortunate enough to enter the hazard-marked area. If a competitor becomes immobilized, the House Robots are authorized to leave their zones and tear that competitor to bits, usually ending in the disabled bot being dumped in the pit. I think they're supposed to be controlled by the show's crew-members. The bots are also authorized to move in to defend any deliberate attack on them by a competitor, which is what Killalot tries to do to Razer. Unfortunately, Killalot's sheer size means he ends up hurting Matilda more than helping her, shoving her onto another firejet (which Sgt. Bash helps her off).
