I love how there is a gas pressure guage sat right at the front of dead metal... wierdly cool little detail. Chris doesn't mention this but dead metal is able to raise and lower it's chassis height. I think this was added around series 5? I dont think the new version of dead metal was able to do that.

He was about to do it in Extreme 1, in the battles were they filmed it at Earls Court. I remember him raising up, when he placed Plunderbird 5 on the floor flipper, during the House Robot Rebellion.

Dead metal for robot wars series 8-10 been changed most noticibly the petrol or USA gasoline saw been changed to a more powerful electric driven saw but the blade shield been eliminated from the saw in series 8-10

It was designed to be interchangable, but the chainsaw was never used again after they got the flywheel. :)

I think there are some official bios for the house robots floating around; I forgot where they popped up from, either the old book or the old website. Dead Metal's official bio is that he's a bot from the future and was designed to wipe out life on other planets. But yeah, a humanized dead metal could possibly be a cross between a psychopath and a heavy metal bastard.

I always thought it looked the coolest but to be honest it never did any damage - the saw doesnt come down with enough force/pressure and when the house robots did the tug of war dead metal was pretty shit
