Well "yeah", if they knew he had a possible weapon on him, no police officer should hold their fire until that weapon is used on them. What, do they have a crystal ball that tells them if they're gonna get shot by a real gun or not? Should they have to risk their lives to find out too late that it was a real gun? (Rhetorical) And a taser will not effectively stop someone fully dressed, (who also has a fire arm), and the taser cannot be relied upon when there is a possibility of hot lead coming for your head. Cops shouldn't have to risk their lives and play games with creeps and thugs, or people who are just acting like creeps or thugs, and have been reported carrying a gun-like weapon of some unknown type. Bottom line, if you have ANY KIND of weapon, and get drunk and act up like a foo, flash that weapon around in the bar, and act all funny when the cops arrive, your chances of getting shot will go way up. Don't carry a weapon and get drunk and show that weapon in the bar and act all weird when the cops show up. Don't ignore the cops orders and sit there vaping like you're all hard- Put your hands up, where the officers can see them, then they won't worry that your drunk azs won't shoot them. Thats just playing Russian roulette with fate. It's unfortunate he died, but his actions were equally part of this tragic incident. I don't think the family has a case here. Snowflakes and arm-chair quarterbacks always think everything is the cop's fault, but fail to consider the risks they face.

They are not going to approach someone to inspect to see if it's a real firearm or air soft. Air soft guns today look just real ones. Sorry for the family, but he would still be here if all he had to do was comply and listen to commands.
