I love catfish! I’ve never had catfish stew but it looks delicious. I love everything that’s in it so I know I’d love it. I’m with you girl, you always love the foods where your roots came from. Hey favorite camera man. 👋🏻 you two are a hot mess! ❤❤

Oh honey yesss with those ingredients ya can’t go wrong 😂 it’s funny that they grew up thinking everybody ate like we did, but when I met my camera man 😂😂😂lol, I realized he had never ate most of the dishes I made and we grew up about 3 hours away, the Lowcountry and the Upstate definitely eat different dishes 😂thank ya friend ❤️🥰

We've got enough winter/cool Spring weather left for a hearty fish (read rockfish/snapper or cod😂) stew. I'll reduce my carbs by leaving the rice out of my portion, but it would be tasty😊 You were so lucky to have cousins living that close. Most of my maternal cousins were somewhere in Seattle, but not within walking distance, and we didn't have a car, so we just saw each other occasionally. All my paternal kin were in Texas, so we saw them never.

Oh honey I’m having a bowl now and no rice is needed 😀 I was very blessed having all of my cousins literally next door! Like I said there was 5 of us, not counting my older sisters, one brother and 4 younger boys his age, we called it “the hill.” It was never a dull moment and we had enough kids for baseball games, kickball, dodgeball, our parents would play as well, all kind of games…truly blessed 🥰❤️

HiYall! Thank you for sharing your recipe. People share their recipes, but this is the one that i have been looking for. I will be marking this soon! 😊 (I am from the lowcountry of South Carolina) Also, I'd like to get your hash recipe to try. Keep posting and be safe. 😀

Yay my fellow Lowcountry neighbor, then you will remember a lot of my recipes as most originated around our neck of the woods! This one is a tried and true recipe and I can eat the entire pot, of course not at once lol but I sure hope you try it 😋 My hash recipe is on here as well, it the kind of hash that we eat in the Lowcountry not the brown pork gravy they serve in the Upstate. I hope you try them and love it too, keep me posted friend 🥰❤️

I grew up in the Lowcountry and catfish stew was something everyone I knew ate. I now live in the Upstate and discovered that no one that I know up here eats it-so weird.

Yesssss 👏 When I say, I made catfish stew people look at me like I have 3 heads and say what is that 😂😂😂 It was a normal dish in the Lowcountry. I’m amazed at how different we eat only 3ish hours away 😳If ya know you know though, we were eating good lol! Many thanks for watching 😊🥰

How many much water would you say for that size pot maybe 2 cups plus where catfish un thaw too?
@Rhondascountrykitchen7 ай бұрын
The catfish wasn’t frozen, I thawed them out in water, drained it and then added fresh water with a little salt, I use enough water to cover it all so the potatoes can boil, I’m sorry I’m terrible about eye-balling things 🙈 The potatoes thicken it up as they cook and absorb it. I probably used about 5 cups of water it’s a pretty big pot. Thank you so much for watching and if you try it, I’d love to know how you like it 🥰❤️
