SOUTHERN FAMILY MEALS OF THE DAY! | BREAKFAST LUNCH & DINNER IDEAS

Hey family!! Today I'm back with a Meals Of The Day Video! We make a big old country breakfast with ham, eggs, and grits, chicken wraps for lunch, and instant pot beef stew for supper!
Yesterday's Video:
• THREE INGREDIENT PEANU...
Instant Pot Beef Stew:
Ingredients:
1.5 pounds stew meat
2 TB vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
16 oz bag baby carrots
2 celery ribs, chopped
2 tsp chili powder
salt and pepper to taste
4 TB Worcestershire Sauce
2 1/2 cups beef broth
If the stew needs to be thickened when done make this cornstarch mixture and add to the pot. Sauté for about 10 minutes.
2 TB Cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Heat oil on Saute setting and add beef. Brown on all sides and remove from pot. Add the onions and garlic and cook for 3 minutes. Add the celery and carrots. Add the salt, pepper, chili powder, and worcestershire sauce. Stir. Add the meat back in and pour in the beef broth. Cook on high pressure for 35 minutes and do a 20 minute slow release of the pressure. Release any remaining pressure and add the cornstarch and water mixture if needed.

I always put taters in my beef stew. Never thought about celery though. I bet that would add a nice flavor. I'll try to remember that the next stew I make. I definitely will remember the water thing with the ham! I always wonder why my ham steaks get so dry. Thanks for that tip! The garden paths are done and I walked on them today. I am so pleased! The crew couldn't have done a better job! I am so anxious for garden season now! 🤣

Falon, sorry you didn't get any snow (except that one flake you thought you saw), we got about 3 inches here in York, Pa. Seems to me when I was young and born and raised in NJ, we had snow all winter. I remember walking on top of the big piles of snow that the trucks piled up the snow with, and tried to stay on top until I got to school, Except you had to get off at the street crossing because they removed the snow. Ah the good old days (before I had to drive in it). Manley is so adorable helping you make the bed, handing you the pillow and saying "I'll be right back". One thing we do is add leftover scraps of this and that, celery leaves and ends and when it comes time to make stew or soup, there's tons of extra veggies to enjoy. Another thing always to keep on hand is those packages of frozen mixed veggies. Fine for dinner, perfect to add to a soup or stew as well.

Question...what did you apply to your cast iron skillet after you washed it and do you put your skillet in the stove to “season” after every use? I don’t after every use ..maybe every 6 months.....y’all staying warm? Only thing missing with these temps is snow!

Thank you Falon that was really nice. The stew looked amazing if you had celery salt you can add a bit of that when you are out of celery, and now that I said that you probably know that lol 😂. My dog wouldn’t let me sleep so I am up watching this at 3:25 am lol 😂. I don’t know why she does this to me. It’s very cold 🥶 out right now -22 C. She is a little Yorkshire Terrier and she loves to be under blankets and she usually sleeps in her own bed with her blankets, but lately she wants under mine.
