Hi Keith. This looks absolutely delicious. Haggis isn't common here in Australia, but it is available at selected delicatessens. The secret to a good firm pattie is a Dry mash. Don't add butter or milk and 'Smash It', not mash it! Wrap the patties in cling film and place in the Freezer for 1/2 hour to firm up. Works a treat. Another top recipe today Keith 🤤👍😀 Cheers

Haggis is a great alternative to mince in almost any recipe. Haggis Bolgonese, Haggis lasagne and Haggis Shepherds pie are all outstanding, just follow your regular recipe for these just switching the mince for haggis it just adds an extra twist to already good food.

Great idea this! I love this time of year, cos you get weird haggis recipes popping up all over the place and there's a little factory just along the road from us 😁

Haggis, neeps and tattles , perfect, no need for anything other than gravy👍. You can also microwave haggis, minus skin.

I think they'd work out better if they were left to cool down and put in the fridge over night so as to harden up a bit like you would with fish cakes

Never had haggis but they do look good. Maybe use an egg to bind the meat, potato and swede then fry in the frying pan rather than deep fry,

Maybe try it in pastry if you want a pastie, also it may have been better mixing the egg in as you do with burgers, just a thought though Keith.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🧢🥤 ✌🏻👨🏻‍🦲✌🏻 Taken from the poem, ‘Lines Written in Friars’ Carse Hermitage’, this quote reminds us of just how short life is. While many of us will live to a ripe old age, when you look back at the years that have passed, you could feel as if it has all gone in the blink of an eye. This quotation from Burns reminds us that life can feel like just a day, and to make the most of each day as if it were your last. It is easy to become caught up in the stressors of life, but in 2023, Burns could inspire you to live life to the fullest every day.

Haggis not for me I once tried it at a pub in 1980 they were having a burns night I thought it tasted a bit like sawdust never touched it since. Maybe if you had made your haggis in breadcrumbs a bit smaller they would have turned out better or just shallow fry them its all trial and error as you well know

Nah, it's a bit confusing but here in Scotland we call a "Swedish turnip" or swede a "neep" or turnip. Probably be easier if everyone called it rutabaga but that sounds a bit American to me 😆
