I am from southern Indiana, it is a great place for families, new sub here, I love your informative and detailed vids. Holiday World is awesome, free soft drink stations all over the park.

I am in Northern Kentucky right across the river from Cincinnati, OH. Thanks for the review of these campgrounds! We are wanting to try new campgrounds in the future. Have you ever camped in Kentucky or Ohio? My family's favorite campground is East Fork State Park Campground in Bethel, OH about 35 minutes east of Cincinnati. It is a huge campground with about 400 camp sites, most of which have electric or full hookup. Each loop has a bath house and the park is beautiful. There is a small camp store at the entrance along with a putt putt course. They also have a decent playground and a lake with a swimming beach...but the beach is about a 25-30 minute drive from the campground in the state park. There are also many hiking trails. Not far from the campground entrance is a lovely store called Boar's Head Market and they sell firewood, ice, and many camping needs as well as food and cold drinks. They even sell pizza and hoagies! I highly recommend this campground to anyone coming to or through the area. There are videos on KZbin someone uploaded that show off every loop/campsite as they drive through the campground. Happy Camping!!

Hey Silber. Thanks for the information. No, I don’t know that campground but I will check it out and try to feature it on my Facebook page. It sounds like a great family-centered camping destination. Yes, I have camped in Kentucky several times but not as often as neighboring states. I’ve never camped in Ohio but would love to visit some of their historical sites.

If you ever get a chance you should check out yellowwood state forrest. Its a great alternative to brown county state park when its slammed full of people

Toast Phigee Yes, There are 3 state forests I’d like to visit. Do you camp there often?
@toastphigee33914 жыл бұрын
@@moderntentcamping yes i camp there quite a bit. When i go to brown county state park i prefer to camp at yellowwood. Its a little more private and alot cheaper but there is limited running water. You can also rent boats.

I love our videos however, if you would like a more primitive off grid camping adventure. Check out the Charles C Deam Wilderness area.

Yes, I’ve heard a lot about that place, but I’ve never been there. We like to camp near other families so that our grandson might find a playmate. Thanks for the note.

Another great video. This is one of the only YT channels that covers tent camping. I have now read Mr. Douglass' book Basic Tent Camping and strongly recommend it. It's a great source of information and tips you may have never thought of or considered.

Scott Hill Thanks Scott for your positive words about this video and the book. I hope that my work will revive the old family tent camping tradition and will encourage state and federal officials to develop more tent friendly campgrounds. Stay in touch.

Will do Mr. Douglass. If I'm considering using a new camp ground I always check your channel first before doing a search on the name of the camp ground. I trust your reviews.

How much is tent camping?
@moderntentcamping4 жыл бұрын
S McCure It varies. As a general rule good campgrounds charge $20 to $40 per night. Out-of-State patrons pay more in state parks than in-state residents. Good federal campgrounds with security and nice bathrooms charge $20 to $30 but an annual pass will reduce those fees. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching.

Yeah but be careful hiking. You can run into the backwoods places where some weirdos hang out
