Well, ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT ! I must say, this is probably the best video using our recording of this song we've seen since CD Baby posted it 9 years ago and KZbin began keeping track of its views - 3,074,099 to date. So THANKS for choosing it for your presentation. Clearly, the BEST choice you could have made. If it's not too much trouble, do us a favor and give us proper credit in your description above. Or, you could just pin this comment...

Great video, I love this song. I had posted a video using your song, but it got taken down because I used scenes from "Field of Lost Shoes" They claimed it a copyright strike. I'm not even monetized. 😒😒 but thanks for sharing 😊😊👍👍❤❤ Love it.

This Yankee Civil War reenactor loves the 2nd South Carolina String Band music. I respect the courage of the men on both sides. My only regret is that not everyone today has moved past the Civil War. To add; the Civil War was the most destructive event in our nation's history and I continue to pray that all can get past it.

The south should have been allowed to secede and all would've been avoided.

The sad part is. By the time of Gettysburg many southern soldiers did not have shoes. The south, or more to the point, the states that provided troops, could not supply them in the field with what they needed. Yes, I am a Yankee, but I was born in Georgia, but moved north to Maryland when I was young, Five I think. I've studied the Civil War, and my Great Great Grandfather, whom I am named after, fought with the 46 Illinois, Company A. And he survived the war. This is a good song, and represents how bad the southern soldiers had it at times.
@kalacaptain4818Ай бұрын
they *wouldn't* provide the confederate army with shoes, not "couldn't." infighting among the southern states and refusal to recognize jefferson davis is what led to their ultimate defeat. which shouldn't be surprising, given only 51% wanted to secede.
@RobertJamieson-dc4jmАй бұрын
The proportion of southerners that voted for secession was far far greater than 51%, and the Confederacy did provide shoes. You only have to look at the military returns to see that. Plus there was the Richmond shoe factory. Granted infighting between the State and Confederate Governments weakened the Confederate war effort.

One of the reasons why the army of Virginia was they had information that there maybe a stockpile of she's in Gettysburg.
@wyattbrasherАй бұрын
Actually, no, the "raggedy reb" is a myth. The rebs was actially very well supplied
@kalacaptain4818Ай бұрын
@@RobertJamieson-dc4jm you are correct it wasn't literally 51%, i meant that metaphorically (except for North Carolina which literally had 51% on the dot vote for 49% vote against succession).

Lovely-looking Corn-feds! The attention to detail is fabulous. In the corn, one of the Rebs is shown holding his hand out in front of him to ward off the Yankee bullets. This was written in a book I read about one of the battles.They were also eating sloosh before the fight, popular with Confederate soldiers. Well done
