I know some of us SWAC lovers may not have known about EWC but those of us who marched the Honda Battle Of The Bands know that school don’t back down to shit! I marched at Alcorn the first year we went to the Honda and they were in the tunnel going at it with TnSt and they respectfully stopped when we walked through and they let us know they don’t disrespect no hbcu band but if they called out then it’s war in some loud ass chant and after they performed they cleared the way for us and wished us luck ... I don’t know how they are now but they forever got respect from me and that band director was doing something right ...also they were small but not this small during that time

Y'all are killing me with that they got courage crap EWC is a good band and highly consistent for their size they're a small school in Florida competing for members with BCU AN FAMU they do what they do. But they're still a college BAND they did very well vs TNstate too when they played them and stole UAPB crowd in 2009 sayes alot. They knew who they were playing but they're a COLLEGE band. Folks act as since it's a top band others whom are smaller just suppose to sit there no. It's college Southern just did what they do PLAY. JUST AS EWC DID PLAY.

For those that’s asking what’s Edward waters.... it was the first and only all black institution after the civil war.... it’s was a all black elementary, middle and high school all in one then after the great fire it became a college.... from what I heard the previous football coach just died as well before this game and please research ewc it use to be one of the top hbcus they foot ball team use to be top notch before the white colleges started bribing players and offering more like Miami university and so forth. It declined so much due to funding but seems like they are pulling back up

They have less trumpets and more Baritones/ Euphoniums than the last couple seasons. That definitely changes things. The trumpets don’t have that sit on top of the band quality they had back in 2017.
