Gnocchi is knee-oh-key but you gotta say it fast. My husband has a SUPER thick southern accent (think Boomhauer from Family Guy) so I spend a lot of time trying to get him to speak so others can understand him! One time he was telling me about “Bouncy” and I couldn’t figure out who he was talking about. Turned out it was Beyoncé. lol! I swear I spent the first 6 months of dating him saying “Say that again” and “What did you say?” But after being together for almost 20 years, I can now say I’m bilingual, I speak English and Redneck. 🤣

There was 7 in the household when I was growing up. .my mom would make us bologna cups....they are SO GOOD!!! place your bologna slices on a baking sheet....place in the oven on broil...the bologna will cup up...then place some mash potatoes in the little bologna cup top it off with a slice of cheese..put it back in the oven long enough for the cheese to melt....and that's it. They are really good!

Good job, Mama. Women are very resourceful in the kitchen. I love challenging myself by looking in my pantry, freezer and fridge. Some really tasty meals have come about that way. I learned from my mom and we weren't ever hard pressed to have a lot of groceries. There were my 2 parents, 5 of us siblings and sometimes our grands. It was fun and teachable. Now my kids are doing it, too, and even my grands thar like to cook.

Nov 24, 2024 6:08 am My husband is a really picky eater. I made a meal plan for 3 meals a day for a week using dishes I knew he would eat. I haven't done this in years but groceries cost so much, but we have a habit of using DoorDash. A DoorDash meal is almost half of our grocery order. We can't afford that anymore. He's going to retire in 6 months (I'm already retired) and we will have to live on a fixed income. Following my meal plan, I was able to buy large packages of items that I was going to use for multiple meals. Anyway, I was able to plan 21 meals for less than $6.00 a meal. Thank you!

I bet that Cinnamon Toast Crunch spread would be good in the oatmeal or if you had made a banana-cinnamon Toast Crunch breakfast bread pudding. Also would be good on a banana muffin or banana bread. Also, have you ever eaten hard fried egg sandwiches? White bread( not toasted), with mayonnaise spread on it with a hard fried egg on it with S&P to taste. My father would make these all the time! This along with a baked cold sweet potato or a cinnamon & sugar fried pie was his lunch he carried in his lunch pail for two miles to school durning the Great Depression. 😊
