To me Iron volume means a lot in how I detect. Let's say you have a new spot to detect first off if it hasn't been detected there is going to be trash like crazy,,, With in mind and the fact you can't get it all the first time there I always notch high kill the iron volume so I only get pulltabs and the silver signals so right there you are getting some treasure right off the bat. What you are missing is nickles gold cheep jewelry etc. Then once I have got all high signals out or most of I turn up the iron volume and lower the notch to accept all signals that helps to unmask good targets because you can hear the masked with the iron vol on....... at least on some detectors. I also CAN give false signals there it is on you to figure that out dig or not but for the most part the false signal may be a benefit because some of those turned out to be iron collectable relic so boom win win there.... I just thought I would add this to show how to correctly use this feature to benefit the operator. Hope you can see how it works there is a lil more to it but that is the basic plan or my plan when I go. Also change sub for a sec,,,,,,, I did some real research on the new carrot Garrett is dangling in front of everybodys nose,,, lol What a joke!!!! and a sad one almost a slap in the face. Garrett get you head outta your a**!!!!!! I looked at the spec. all you got to do and features. 5 tone machine? It might rival Dr. Otec as far as this machine the score will probably stomp all over it. I was very dissapointed I would of bought one just to have it around not after I looked at the features.... Just saying.

I just bought this machine, just waiting for it arrive. Which coil is better in your opinion? I am going to stsrt in sand and shallow fresh water.

In the water I would use the small elliptical. Easier to pinpoint and less drag. On the sand and dirt to cover larger areas and go deeper then the bigger coil. Trashy areas on land I would use the smaller coil. Hope that helps 👍

So, is the Garrett Vortex V9 better than the Nokta triple score? I'm already thinking yes, but don't know for sure.

Until the Vortex comes out it’s just hard to say. Features are really good though on the Triple Score. Definitely the Best value and feature loaded machine in that price range right now.

Can you run the lg30 coil on this triple score?

It has its own coils the SC30 is its coil similar to the LG30. If you buy this machine it comes with that coil

The triple score is one noisy machine ..wish I never bought it.

Could be several reasons , high emi in the area you are hunting, running the sensitivity to high, mineralized soil all could be issues. I have multiple machines and the triple score in my area is not noisy at all and I run it pretty hot and open on most of my relic sites 👍
