Notice what Dake just said? He said angels dont marry. ok Why are people saying angels came down and had sex with the natural women and the women had babys by them which produced Gaints. Because it said the married the daughters of men. So the ones who married the daughters of men could not be angels. Remember that everything reproduces after its own kind. It's really not, the biggest problem with this interpretation is that you have to ignore the LITERAL previous chapters Genesis 4 and 5, isolate the 2 verses that have "sons of God" in chapter 6 and ASSUME it's referring to fallen angels instead of the descendants of Seth. You have to ignore Matthew 22:29, (that is a problem verse for those who think angels procreated with humans) You have to ignore the over 10 references "sons of God" meaning men who worship God in the New Testament. And you also have to ignore the demon possessed man story, the demons said to Jesus "it is not the time of torment yet" meaning there's a specified time for destroying fallen angels. So his 2 Peter 2:1-10 connection doesn't work there either. I used to think that "sons of God" meant fallen angels too, but I remember just reading the previous chapters for hours seeking for clues and it all came to me and 6:38 made sense. Chapter 4 Cain's genealogy is the daughters of men Chapter 5 is Seth Genealogy sons of God "because men began to call on God's name when Seth was born and had sons Supporters of fallen angel procreation belief are just mostly intrigued by the race nephilim. A hybrid between human and angel. They are so intrigued with the idea they WANT "sons of God" to be fallen angels in Genesis 6. "sons of God" is really an encompassing term for all CREATION who worship God. Men, angels, and perhaps other intelligent life we are unaware of and isolated from because of sin. But it doesn't include fallen angels because they don't worship God.

@@mikhailhunter5277I think you are ignoring what the text says, Sons of God. It says nothing of the sort about who they were before hand. It doesn’t say they are Angels. But Job does have something to say about it. The Sons of God were at creation, it’s the same word as in Gen 6. The Seth line runs into problems because the Cain line and Seth line Had to have had contact because Cain found a wife. From who? Adam, Seth.? And the big problem is People having sex with people do not make giant clans. ( I disagree with this guy on this point) Job defines Sons of God. So who are they that cheered at creation. God said they were there. He should know. It’s the only straight up answer the Sons of God are the Sons of God.

I was lucky enough to take his hermeneutics as a one-week intensive when I was serving abroad. He came to us on behalf of the seminary and shared his book with us and as much as he could about how to wisely interpret scripture. He ate with us, bunked with us, preached the most thoughtful Christmas message I’ve ever heard and even evangelized where he could. Awesome man right here.

I came to this very probable deduction as well. Could very well be the same for the gods in Egypt and all other ancient civilizations. As it is said that 1/3 of the angels joined the devil’s rebellion as they wanted to be treated as gods and have rule over the humans.

The bilbe is however clear, it says well in genesis that the product of these couplings gave giants who were the heroes or the famous people of other times. So all the pantheons of ancient Greek, Egyptian, Hindu and other civilizations come from there.

exactly my sentiments. this goes way deeper, beyond our human comprehension. Hence I try to not dabble or dig to deep, confusion runs amuck in my head, followed by tons of questions. then doubt creeps in. very dangerous territory, might be the reason why alot of things were not allowed in the bible. God only gave us what we need in it, no more no less.

This is why I tend not to read the Bible instead try to stay in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Don't think I'm saying the Bible isn't holy, or not to read it, what I'm saying is good gave us the Holy Spirit, and if you really have accepted Christ you can feel this flow over you, and it is the second greatest gift we have ever received, the first being the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us . In reality it is so difficult to interpret bible without one being filled with God's Spirit and power. Teaching scriptures without hearing from God is a big blindfolding. There are 2 classes of sonship: The permissive sons of God, these are classes of beigns among angels and man who can hear God by His voice before Christ came John 10:35. 2. The Adopted sons of God, these are those who have been able to received the Gospel of Christ by faith, now living with the eternal life of God in their spirit John 5:26, James 1:18, these class of people are the new Adams i.e the new creation men. Those angels known as the sons of God are also called the sons of morning or the morning stars, Michael, Gabriel etc and Lucifer before he fell, fall into this category they are the chief princes i.e archangels in the 2nd heaven, they are angels who stands before God's throne just as Gabriel mentioned to Zechariah. Among these sons of God some of them fell with Lucifer and his 1/3 troops in heaven, but Gabriel and Michael etc with their troops kept their company till date. You need to have an encounter with those guys to know the full details about what was summarized in the bible. If bible is enough to know the mysteries of God then we don't need the Spirit to commune with us again. Don't be carried away by doctorates in theology, bible is more than theology learning, it is spiritual.

If you take into account the Hebrew scholars who believe that the giants were descendants of spiritual beings and human women it is ambiguous. @Kenny MacDonald He did, just read it there in your bible, John the apostle testified to this in Revelation...bible said he drew 1/3 of angels in (2nd) heaven with his tail and their place were no longer found in heaven, that was after the first world war in angelic heaven, i.e before Adam was brought here on earth in the flesh. Later he stole Adamaic authority and right to ruled the world as god and prince of this world for thousands years.... Let me shock you real good, no angel is the overall of all angels in heaven not even Michael, you see over years back they blindfold us with errors, thinking Lucifer is the overall lwader of all angels or Michael is the captain of all angels, that is not true at all.... There are class of angels called the morning stars which includes Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel and etc which their names are not mention in the bible. Now these class of angel are those who stands before God, an each of those angels i mentioned earlier it was only Lucifer who lost his own ttoop and made them rebelled, these were just 1/3 of all angels. Now Gabriel and Michael etc kept their own troops and estate. Michael wasn't the only captain, chief prince in heaven as Lucifer before he fell wasn't the only son of morning, morning star or permissive son of God in heaven, Michael and Gabriel is one of them. As Lucifer was anointed Cherub so is Michael, and Gabriel being an anointed Seraph i.e 6 wings angel who stands before God's throne, we do know them by their wings. Why 6 wings? You see the glory of God's pressence is too high such that they need to cover their face and wrapped up their body with those wing that is as hard as steels, and the remaining two wings bible said they fly with it, this made Gabriel and other sons of God to be more swift. The word chief princes, anointed Cherub, captain, mornings stars, sons of God are the same, Michael is the captain or prince of Israel whom God sent in their mist, just as Gabriel is the prince or captain of persia and Grecia in God's side here in earth. You see most people lack revelation that is why they felt a Seraphim or Cherubim is a name given to an individual angel in heaven, no Sir. The angels in heaven are classified or categorized into two in heaven i.e 2nd heaven. 1. The Seraphims 2. The Cherubim Among the Seraphims we have angels that head them, so also the Cherubim in their various group or troop, those one are the one we called the morning stars and the permissive sons of God. Why are they the sons of God? They are they who hear God mouth to mouth that is why they stands becofe God. I have more deeper things to share, Gabriel is my ministry angel and he revealed things to me.

I think the sons of God refers to the lineage of Seth and the scripture intends to demystify the perception that they could have generated special giants by flesh. Here is my explanation:- we notice that all creatures and creation has structures and organs that adapts them to their environment and purpose. We have sex organs for reproduction, stomach for digestion, and limbs to walk. Land animals have these structures. Water creature have unique attributes for water survival. And the same is true for birds. Jesus, before he came, had to take the human form that is fit for use on earth (philipians 2). Therefore, it indicates He looked differently in heaven and angels in heaven have different structures for their environment and purposes. If Angels had sex with women, by nature they should be having sex with fellow Angeles in heaven. But you said Angels in heaven don't marry?? Then I ask, why would God give them sex organs and how would they have sex without marriage? They would be fornicators. Therefore, these can't be Angels.

If you pay attention, he reads the word “when” as meaning “before.” But “when” does not mean “before,” but rather “at the time of.” So the text would actually seem to be expressing that the appearance of the Nephilim coincides with the production of offspring from the unnatural couplings of angels and human women. Both interpretations are still possible, but I don’t see the support for positing his reading as the correct interpretation. Also, in his reading he states the text does not explain who the Nephilim were, but if you read “when” as meaning “when” and not “before,” that’s exactly what the text does - explain who the Nephilim were and where they came from.

I've known these things for decades now. Over 45 years ago,when I studied the book of Daniel's prophecies about the Antichrist, I noticed what Daniel was being shown in Daniel 11.And for decades after,no bible teacher I know of ever mentioned what is pretty obvious. Now,back then,talking about aliens and pointing this out in scripture got my friends eyes rolling. But now? Well, the majority of the world,according to recent polls,believes aliens are real. Here's biblical proof, and the prophecies of what's already unfolding in the news. Take note,remember that Jesus and the apostles warned over and over, do not be deceived. "Aliens" in the bible?!!! If you study the bible you would learn that angels can take on different forms. Now that includes fallen angels. Paul taught that in Thessalonians. Because they rejected the truth,God gives the world (those left behind after the rapture) over to a powerful delusion. 2 Thess.2:9 The coming of the lawless one(the Antichrist) will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 Now notice this. It's "the lie",singular,not lies plural. Paul states this twice,ok? It's one main idea that is at the deception the world is given over to. And it's being promoted now,all over the news and social media. What's this one idea,lie,deception? That aliens are responsible for genetically engineering modern man! That they have been here throughout history. That they will intervene when the time comes,when we are threatening to destroy ourselves through nuclear holocaust,etc.etc. I haven't found a bible prophecy teacher yet who has commented on these particular prophecies in Daniel. Daniel 2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. Now Chuck Missler did teach on this,so I have to give him the credit due. Notice "they"will mingle with the seed of men"? Who are they? Everyone in this last kingdom of the Antichrist? Or just the beast and the rules? Who knows for sure. BUT,"THEY" are not of the "seed of men"! Get it? "They"are not completely human. Why do you think they're referred to as "beast" in Revelation? Now do the research and see what's in this mRna nanotechnology,that changes our human DNA. And here's the prophecy that nobody will teach,Daniel 11:36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. Look at this carefully. The "king"is the Antichrist.This prophecy is about the last kingdom on Earth,before Jesus comes. Who is the second figure here? An "unkown"god,a god of fortresses (forces),a "FOREIGN"god! That word in the Hebrew is alien! This is a fallen angel. Who empowers the Antichrist and is able to subdue the mightiest weapons of war on the Earth. Bible prophecy must harmonize. These two figures must be the two "beast"of Rev.13,and 17.See that? The great alien deception is already being promoted. Even on the mainstream news now,check the news out right now! These aren't aliens.Their fallen angels and demons who can shapeshift. In reality the ten spies lost faith when reporting back to Moses when about to enter the promised land. There were no giants in Israel,that's when Elohim got fed up with the children of Israel especially the ten spies giving a bad report while Joshua and Caleb wanted to go in and take the promised land as promised by Elohim. Elohim made the children of Israel wander the desert for forty years because of their unfaithfulness. They forgot who was their God. Those doubted Elohim were turned them to carcass until they all died including the ten spies,only two that left Egypt were able to enter the promised land which is Joshua and Caleb.

If you read the full text it is referring to the ACT of the fallen angels entering into the daughters of men and yes, this act occurred before and after the flood.Conspiracy theories and conjecture and flat out twisting of scripture is what many of the commenters are discussing,not the bible.Read Gen.6:1-4.Literally spells out the exact premise that you stated.It says clearly the fallen angels entered into the daughters of men before and after the flood.

If you have studied science and the Bible, DNA of angels would make the humans quite small depending on the angel. And if you studied science in school you would have known that DNA that beings have could do anything with size and shape. Including human DNA with human DNA. You need to go back to school if you wish to know this. Even if some angels are large, some are quite small too.

Queen Eva Thanks for your kind words. It’s not that I don’t know what being religious is. Actually I am raised Catholic and I used to read the Bible. I like it as a book and it holds some kind of youth sentiment. My grandfather used to read stories and explain them. It was one of the nicest things in my childhood. In my teens I quit religion and started to inform myself about other ways of making sense of life. I came to the conclusion (maybe sadly so) that there is no higher power. It really hurts to have to come to this conclusion. Now I dare say that I am very sceptical to all kinds of religion. The only thing that can give me the same feeling of calm that I had in church is meditating in nature. What happens to me after I die? I can’t say... My best guess is nothing. That is my body will decompose and in this way I will again become part of the circle of life. Not a bad thought. I know that believing in God can give you this good feeling of belonging. It’s quite special and yes I miss it but I cannot believe in a deity that isn’t there.

As I already said before I know how it is to believe in Jesus and God and even the Holy Ghost if you want the whole shabang . I know what I lost when I became an apostate. Not only did I loose my belief. I also made my grandfather very sad and I lost some kinda “friend” in high places where as a child I could talk to. Yeah I still remember te feeling of belonging and not having to justify yourself... but ... I was a child and children are easy to fool. When I found out that there is no such thing as a god it made me sad ... really sad. Now, I accepted my faith, that is no other than all the people who came before us. Huh, I forgot Job mentioned the sons of God. That's interesting. Especially so when you consider Job occurs earlier and is probably one of the oldest books ever written (time wise), taking place sometime in the early genesis period, pre-Mosaic law. Actually if you do some deeper searches... you find the mother too.. I think the main pantheon was El, his wife Asherah... then his 70 sons. Then somehow later... Yahweh replaced El... then the wife Asherah was given a frowned upon and given the boot... written out of the manuscripts for the most part. frowned upon The Sons of God started being referred too as angels... The Catholic Church centered in Rome had not yet destroyed those Churches and consolidated its power. These Churches had many manuscripts, and the churches had letters handed down to them that the original Apostles (Couriers) had given them. They had many writings of those taught by the Apostles. They debated each manuscript, the ones accepted having to have 2 to 3 witnesses, as the Scriptures require. This is how they settled on what we today call, "The New Testament."

@@Razaiel No. Not quite. I really really dislike the RCC, but truth is truth and the old story about the nefarious decisions that went into the selection of the Canon aren't accurate. There are several things needed for a book to be accepted as Scripture. The first and most important, Did the Jews consider it Scripture? They valued Enoch, but it was not considered inspired by God. The authorship is examined. Did the person claiming to write it write, dictate, or oversee it? How old is it? Is the material used consistent with the claimed age? Are the grammar, expressions, and idioms used consistent with the stated age? When it describes witnessed events, was it written close enough to the date of the events described to have been written and read by eye-witnesses? How does it line up next to other books which have already been accepted as inspired? If every Prophet in the canon has rejected magic, spells, incantations, etc then it is easy to see why Tobias is not included. Also, it is dated to have been written about 200 years BCE, but the story is placed in the 8th century BCE.

I think there are some misinterpretations. (Genesis 6. / KJV) 4. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. without no doubt, the giants or nephilims are offsprings between angels and human-women. Because the bible says "the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them" 'In those day' means the pre-flood world and 'after that' means post-flood world. It is written from the perspective of post flood world people (maybe moses). Why did God have to wipe out all humanbeings and nephilims in those day.(Noah's day). And why did God command the israelities to extinct the canaanites where the decendants of nephilims exists. Because it was a great threat against the messiah's coming in humanbody. In this perspective, i think we can understand Gen6 and the whole bible context.

Are you saying people make exuses for bad behavior by blaming it on satan like, "the devil made me do it"? Sounds pretty dumb when youbsay it like that but actually sometimes it is true. If there was no satan to do the original sin would people still make as many mistakes? Thats what repentence works and make sense. If you make a mistake you learn from it and dont do it again. Personally i have done sins out of curiosity but discovered i didnt at all enjoy them and they made me have a lot of regret afterwards which was like fuel to make sure i never did that again: disgust

What an amazing exposition and a great insight into the Book of Enoch and why so many want it consider as scripture. As a counter to Romans it would relieve man of the burden of a sinful nature. This is a great argument against the Book of Enoch. Every Bible student should hear this exposition and learn both the truths put forth and the manner in which they were derived. I find "enough" in this answer, I've been saved for some forty years, a serious student, and have passed over these verses many times, with no understanding, and leaving them alone. I ran across this today, and just clicked on it, and listened, read my own bible, with its slight variance of wording, and find this simple, plain, and quite reasonable, and yet not over-considered. We do tend to get wrapped up in things of little consequence, and gloss past things of significant importance, if we're not careful. Thanks for a clear and cogent answer. It fits very well with almost sixty years of study.

Thats why I Do not agree with this mans second sentiment. Perhaps when the Author was talking about endless geneologies, Paul was referring to what the Pharisees would claim about being the sons of Abraham, and John the baptist and Jesus both said, that your geneology doesnt mean anything. (PARAPHRASED) Why? In scripture the Israeli and and kings of Judah had a scrambled and broken line of faithfulness and unfaithfulness to God IN LINEAGE. So although their lineage was racked with both faithfulness and unfaithfulness the emphasis of Jesus and John the baptist was on HANDED DOWN HERITAGE and not lineage. Of course this example is displayed all the way back to the story of Adam and Eve bearing 2 sons. One who followed God and one who didnt. Same lineage but handed down different Heritage. so was Paul referring to the Nphalaim in his letter to Timothy, my instinct says no but had more to do with doctrinal divide.

I think that the Nephalim / Giants were descended from the Fallen Angels, main reason is that man is not going to have been triple his current size in the beginning. Giants clearly aren't fully human because there's a major size difference. The reason why the Flood happened is that all flesh, human and animal, was corrupted by the Fallen Angels. I believe the "in those days & afterwards" is referring to before the Flood & after the Flood when the Fallen Angels clearly returned and corrupted some tribes, reason why God told the Hebrews to completely annihilate them & their animals. Sons of God in Old Testament always referred to angels. Only in the gospels did the new term children of God which is a completely separate title get used to refer to us. Children of God. Which is a completely separate title then sons of God. Almost all Bible scholars know it is referring to angels. Only new modern day interpretations think of it as Seths line. You should also know even amongst modern day Bible scholars the small minority are the ones who believe it is Seths line. Most Bible scholars today say it’s angels. Most pastors preach it’s angels. But most importantly all ancient Bible scholars wrote of sons of God as angels. Your belief is far in the minority of interpreting it that way.

You are right because when I fast and pray to GOD for understanding, He always clears up any ambiguities. HE answers through Spiritual Revelations, Visions, chosen People, Premonitions, and/or Dreams. My Dreams are profoundly realistic because they eventually come true, but Premonitions do not always come true because they are warnings. That is GOD's way of admonishing us and giving us the opportunity to change our ways or stop doing wrong. Either way, I get my answers from GOD. I believe GOD wants everyone to know the truth, thusly, I believe if everyone would take the time to fast and pray and just spend some quality time with Him, He will answer everyone. GOD has no favorites, He Loves everyone and wants everyone to be Saved, but He says those who continue to hate and intentionally cause harm to others will not be Saved. In fact, GOD does not hear the prayers of the wicked, evildoers, and Satan worshippers. Moreover, He also says He detests those who justify the guilty and accuse the innocent. HE calls them an abomination.

@3:55 he says the reference to Adam as son of God had to do with a father/son relationship like God had with David. But nowhere is David called a son of God. In the Luke genealogy Adam is called son of God and David is called son of Jesse. I guess he didn't want to go into that.

this is probably because the nephilim were a way to basically convert new people by giving them an explanation for their already present deities...similar to how St. Patrick put the symbol of the Sun deity of Ireland on the cross to show its significance resulting in the Celtic Cross ( a sort of co-opting of pagan and Christian symbols.) The faith has done this many times throughout history it is very much the reason Christmas is on December 25th (which was a widely celebrated date for Roman Holidays) as the religion spread and got bigger, it often co-opted ideas as many religions do. So essentially you are probably right that at first Romans prob didnt totally stop believing in Hercules but rather saw him as something between God and people and these stories exist to allow that belief.

I think there was titans before the flood and they were the sons and daughters of the fallen angels and so back then everything was big even trees so the giants climbed the trees up to heaven but they were chopped down and all of them were killed by the flood and they became the lands and the mountains this explains why there is a big tree stump the size of a mountain

But, the christian god is supposedly of supreme knowedge and power. When he created the universe and people he could have set some standard other then eternal torture for any offense, no matter how small. He could have done any number of things differently so that we are not born destined for hell unless we do exactly as told in a book written by men that is full of stupid lies and immoraity. Of course, since god knows all, he knows before hand who is going to heaven and who to hell and he is perfectly happy to condemn people before they are even born by allowing them to be born. No, he gave us a world that looks exactly as it would without his influence, refuses to allow any evidence for his existence, and stands ready to punish us for acting in accordance with what we are given. It's ridiculous. It's insane. It's hateful. The concept of sin and redemption in Christianity is the single most appalling and evil thing about this mythology.

@@ForeverInFaith that’s actually exactly what happened with me too. I was even a High Priestess of my own coven. Was into it for at least 10 years. A lot of that had to do with the fact the Christianity didn’t make sense with all these other beliefs from so many cultures. Plus, if there was a God, I was pretty angry about all of the abuse I went through in my life. I wanted nothing to do with the Christian God for a while. Then the pandemic hit and my eyes were opened to all the evil in the world. I could feel it, even though I never practiced dark arts, or Lucifarianism, I knew what was up. It was like my background actually prepared me for this understanding. I started praying for understanding and that’s when I found Heiser among other confirmations. I wish I could through to some of the ol coven members. It all makes so much more sense now.

I love Michael Heiser's work too. I agree with his stance on the topic of the Nephilim because he goes into the original language of the writer's of the hebrewic Bible to disect and interpret the true meaning plus existence of who the Nephilim were. He doesn't let our interpretation of the day dillute the worth of the Bible, regardless the topic.

He cites his sources very nicely and has very informative footnotes as well. If you wanted to research further he gives plenty of information to do so. The Bible has never made more sense to me thanks to Heiser.

po yee. the scripture starts off by telling you that giants were not the result of fallen angels because it states that there were giants in the earth in those days and also after that when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men. scripture never said that the giants were of renown. it said the men who were born onto the sons of God were mighty men of old men of renown. scripture never called any of them giants or nephelim. the same scripture he is using to support his fallen angels theory is not supporting any fallen angels mixing with women period. and if that were true, how is it possible for noah to escape contamination but not the rest of his siblings? and with that many fallen angels as alleged by some truthseekers, what is the name of at least one fallen angel and his son?

QUESTIONS: Weren't those watchers/fallen angels "spirit beings"? • Meaning no fleshly bodies nor genitalia? Did they somehow possess "creator" capacity apart from the Word, • or did they force the Word to do their bidding? • Meaning did they make their own flesh bodies with Genitalia? Weren't their boundaries of "after their own kind" established by the creator? • How did they violate the established order of "after their own kind" set by God almighty? • If they did make flesh bodies; how did they change the rules of being “now flesh” with its commensurate death? Wasn't the commission and command "only" to mankind "to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth" as was consistently reiterated? • How did spirit beings change that established order or subvert it and change the command of the creator so they could "multiply"? If they did not create genitalia for reproduction; meaning not have flesh bodies to inseminate; • did they do "virgin births" before Jesus? • Do we then say Nephalim came in the "flesh" as virgin births? • and that the Word/Creator didn't do that then but thousands of years later?

The assumption that 1 Timothy refers to the book of Enoch and is about shifting blame to angels rather than mankind is also pure speculation without corroborating evidence.

I raise this question however...If the fallen angels who left their first estate did cohabit with human women, they must have had children. Would it not stand to reason that those progeny would have extraordinary characteristics, such that they would be "men of renown"? Furthermore, the term "demigods" in ancient mythology seems to describe beings who are half "god" and half human; and were people of extraordinary power and influence. Thus, the tradition that "nephilim" were demigods or giants living in the earth seems a most likely interpretation based on the proximity of their advent in the scriptures to the sin of the "sons of God".

Who are the Sons of God in Genesis 6 before the flood of Noah? Per Job 38 the Sons of God (ANGELS) shout before the world began - Adam man came 6 days later AFTER the earth was created. Job 38:4 - Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Job 38:5 - Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Job 38:6 - Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; Job 38:7 - When the morning stars sang together, and all the SONS OF GOD sons of God shouted for joy? How can the sons of God be men since they were shouting for joy when the earth was created? Adam man did not come till 6 days AFTER the earth was made. Adam was a Son of God since he created him - Angels are SONS of God since God created them and was their Father Jesus is the only BEGOTTEN SON of GOD - Believers DO NOT become Sons of God till they are born again of the Holy Spirit only in the new testament So IF all the SONS OF GOD of Genesis 6 were the men who were ALL righteous the DAUGHTERS OF MEN were all women who were ALL wicked and evil So all the men were godly and the women were evil ? Should we believe this: all the men were godly and the women were evil then the godly men and wicked women got married and believers and unbelievers had children who were GIANTS. so where are these giants today? Playing for the NBA? 2 Samuel 21:20 - And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant. Do we any unbelievers running around with 6 fingers and toes? God wanted war with the children of the wicked human women who did not believe? so where are the giants today? Deuteronomy Chapter 7 [NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT] 1 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; 2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, [and] utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: 3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. Were all the (men) sons of God good holy people and all the daughters (women) of men were evil & wicked? This is what 90+ % of all churches teach today. This does not make any sense to me....How can believers and unbelievers have giants for children? Why would God destroy the earth in a flood? Why not send evangelists to preach to the unbelievers instead? Unless of course the fallen angels polluted the blood line DNA of the line of humankind or Adam. Were the sons of God the fallen angels? Is this the origin of the devils or demons? Think David and Goliath the giant Philistine champion soldier. If any believe the son's of God were merely Godly men... Please explain why Israel was commanded to KILL ALL the CANAANITES and the giant Phillistines (remember Goliath) who were of of the canaanites? ...and the flood of Noah Zephaniah 2:5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. Can any explain, with a wealth of Bible knowledge, why God commanded Israel to exterminate all the Canaanites and the giant Phillistines (Goliath and David) Deuteronomy 20:17 - But thou shalt utterly DESTROY destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: Num 21:3 - And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly DESTROYED destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah. Why did the Lord not tell Joshua to please send evangelists to tell them the ways of the Lord? No, instead the Lord commanded they all be killed. Zechariah 14:21 - Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts. NO QUOTES FROM ENOCH or anything except the Bible Read again...no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts. Does not the view of the sethite Adamite sons of God makes the Lord sound like a homicidal maniac.............wanting to kill all the cannanites whose only sin was being born of unbelievers? OR were they fallen angel satanic hybrids as Job 38 tells us?

I, myself did not propose to shift my view from what I've been taught & have come to believe (ie. all that you've stated above), I was merely commenting on the teaching style of the speaker. Having gone back to the Word in my own time which undeniably (as you've proven) uphold what I originally believed, I chose to leave the comment as such... in the hopes that others would essentially Not take the word of any eloquent teacher as Gospel, but in fact Go Back To the Scriptures for themselves, for the Word to reveal its relevant Truth to them personally. The best Way to learn, in my opinion, with hearing the True Word of Christ preached coming in a close 2nd (depending on where one is on their walk - ie. for most hearing the Word is their "bread & butter", so finding the right teacher is essential). Thanks for your expounding though, I pray any or all those who "liked" my comment would take advantage of your due diligence & receive it in resonance with the Yes & Amen in them. Gen 6:4 "...when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, THE SAME BECAME mighty men which were of old, men of renown." This seems to clearly say the opposite of the gentleman's assertion in this presentation. The men of renown were not a separate issue that Moses is trying to disconnect from the angelic incursion. Instead Moses explains the men of renown ARE the offspring and explicitly calls them Nephilim.

It might be your translation. I just checked NASB and ESV and it doesn’t include “the same became.” Clearly a thorny passage to deal with :/

@@ZealotFeathers Yes the KJV says "The same became" other translations say "Those became." Either "The same" or "Those" refers back to the subject of the sentence who are the Nephilim.

Looks to me that "the same became" is an extension of "the children", so it was the children of the marriage that becomes mighty men.

Excellent segment on Genesis 6! It leaves me clearer understanding- but more questions. I only recently learned of the book of Enoch, the watchers, etc. and didn’t really understand why it was left out of the Bible- but this explains that.

The reason it is was left out is two fold. One, it is not complete. Lots of pieces are missing. Two, it is an ancient version of the Midrash. Parables and stories that mixes facts with fiction.

@@krevin543 you have to go back to Scripture. Does it line up with what Scripture says or no? In one part of Enoch, it says that when Noah was born, like a light, he literally shone brightly. Does Scripture agree with that? Does it say that ANY child shone with a heavenly light? How about Christ who is God, does Scripture say He shone with light? If not even God shone with light when He was born a human, then why did Noah? Was he more special then God Himself? That one is fiction. Enoch talks about a place that we would call purgatory. Does that line up with Scripture? Does Scripture claim we all go to our own dark purgatory alone until Christ comes back, or does Scripture say that we are just merely sleeping until Christ comes back? That part of Enoch is fiction as well. Though it does have some facts to it. In the parable, Enoch sees Abel crying out to God to avenge him. In Scripture, God tells Cain that Abel's blood calls out to Him. In Enoch, Enoch states he saw the imprisoned angels. Unless they were imprisoned while he lived, that is fiction since he saw it on a purgatory tour. However, Scripture does indeed state that angels left heaven, mated with human women begetting the Nephilim and they themselves were chained in darkness until the day of judgement. Always go back to Scripture and Jewish history. If any of these match up with a parable, then it is a fact instead of a parable. A parable is like a fairy tale. It's a fictionalized story meant to convey a moral. Let's look at what Enoch says about the historical happenings of the group of angels that came to earth. They willingly left heaven, mated with women, taught mankind how to do and make things and were punished for there actions. In the current Jewish Midrash, we have a similar parable. Two angels discuss mankind with God, around the time God feels sorry He made humans. They claim God should destroy humanity and earth should go to all of them, that they could be better humans than the humans and not sin. God gives the two permission to go and see if what they claim is true or if they'll just fall like humanity did. After becoming human, sin entered them. They did things, mated with human women. I can't remember what happened to one angel, but the other felt so guilty either after the flood or before, that he flew up between heaven and earth and locked himself upside down there. Fictionalized, but mixed with some truth in order to bring forth a moral.

@@tonyf4991 Fascinating! I had not heard of the parable of the two angels. It seems so difficult to dismiss Enoch’s book because direct contradictions to it in scripture appear explainable and it talks into a period of time where momentous happenings came about with very little biblical context. The discussion of purgatory- or a place between heaven and hell after death- is interesting. Likely this is the strongest argument you mentioned that would lead me to discount Enoch. The birth of Noah in light however (while, yes, not found elsewhere to my knowledge in scripture) I don’t think can be dismissed. I think it wouldn’t trump Jesus’s birth either- as Jesus had a choir of angels appear and announce his birth, as well as a heavenly constellation foretelling his birth place. Thank you for your engagement! You have given me some new items to look into.

Bene Elohim = Sons of God. They're also called The Watchers, aren't they, in the Book of Enoch? Weren't they supposed to police the earth, keep a watch and also put forward some suggestions for decision-making? Didn't they (at least some of them) then go off the rails and liked the worship for themselves, some even deciding to live directly within the earth realm and becoming flesh for their own ends? This interference in the life of mankind had pretty diabolical effects for us humans, was not tolerated by God and they were subsequently condemned until the Judgement Day. I think all of this is pretty straightforward, isn't it? I thought Paul was downing genealogies in respect to the Gnostics and their belief in descendants from Seth. Lucifer and his followers sinned by dragging/luring us out from the garden before our evolution of soul was ready for the material world. This made life much more difficult than it could have been. Humans were duped, but I don't think the fault was ALL ours. That being said, Jesus Christ made a massive sacrifice out of love and obedience, in offering us a path to salvation out of the mire of the world.

I read the bible and I also read the works of Rudolf Steiner, a Christian seer, or clairvoyant mystic (a real one), who can see into our and earth's history. When studying the military aspects of Joshua’s campaign I needed to include information on the inhabitants of the Promised Land (know your enemy is standard military practice). I was convinced that these were actual giants. That, according to Jewish history, genes passed through Ham’s wife. Nimrod (Ham’s grandson I believe) who was supposedly 15-18 feet tall, is quoted as hating God for what he did (flood) to his ancestors. Per Dr. David Jeremiah, the Nephilim were destroyed in the flood, but the Anakim (Amorites, ect.) were giants. My conclusion is that the giant ‘DNA’ traces to the Fallen Angels and the mythological gods are based on characters like Nimrod. Is it important enough to argue over-course not. What was important to me, is that Caleb and Joshua had the faith to believe that God would lead them to victory against giants who were defending themselves within fortifications like Jericho.

How about this Mark Math... "They were here before and they were here after" Gen 6:4 (paraphrased) How did "they" come to be in the first place? ..."When the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them." Gen 6:4 (paraphrased) The sons of God coming to earth to mate with human women was an unnatural but also supernatural event, but those offspring perished in the flood. So how did they show up again after the flood? Well ...if the sons of God could do it once, why not return to do it again? These hybrid beings showed up again after the flood so the ones who sired such "men" must have returned. We know they didn't come from Noah and his family and they were the only human survivors.

@@Lou-Lou8343 Interesting comments! Per Dr. David Jeremiah and fundamental Bible scholars that I know of, God wiped out the Nephilim in the flood and the giants post-flood were Anakim. I believe Jewish history in that the ‘bad’ genes came through Ham and his wife. Nimrod was a giant, worlds first despot and a descendant of Ham.

John Roberts Their names aren’t not in The Book of Life and therefore, when they die, their spirits are trapped here on earth. They have no path to salvation at all. They are what we call demons.
