Fishing for kingfish wasn't exactly the goal of this bottom fishing trip, but when key largo fishing I guess you never know what you may end up with on the catch and cook fish show.

Here's probably a first for you I'm laying in bed in a big hospital for the last week now. Went through back surgery Thursday. Unable to feel my legs for 6 years. Paraplegic, went through a new operation I can actually walk again and feel my legs. Hallelujah. You guys have kept me going with your content. And being great people that you are I enjoy watching what you do. Thank you for all your help and persistence of what you do getting me through my pain and suffering. Hopefully next year I'll be able to come down and maybe go fishing with y'all. Let me know Thank you. Ken

Looks like a Spanish mackerel, they are a smaller version of king fish with speckled bodies. Tasty fish as well

Steaked and grilled kingfish is delicious, my dad and I used to cook it that way a lot. The only thing we do different is we added a slice of lemon and a slice of a sweet onion and placed it on top and every time you flip it just put it back on the top it's so good! 😁👍

Nah it was a king. Baby kings have spots. Cero have squiggly lines at that size. You don't want to get caught with a short king lol Look at pictures of juvenile kingfish and you'll see they have spots like that

When I went to boot camp Florida had no salt water license or limits for recreational fishing. Now… I retired in Minnesota, what they call fish we used to call bait. Ice fishing is cool though. Love the kingfish you have to be careful with them I know someone that got his finger chop and had to go to hospital also have bacteria in teeth..
