You could buy a bunch of doors and cut the window frames off. Then use "that top" of the door that's left to finish the body line right through to the tailgate
@stancefraternity2641 Жыл бұрын
Cut the top of the door panel in a 2 inch strip and weld it on the quarter panel to create the body line.
@tommydavis537 Жыл бұрын
If it were me, Id chop the top of the doors to the level of the bed, lower the vent windows with it, and chop the windshield flush to the top of the vent windows. Chop the top to match or even put in a bit of rake like an old carson top. Love the build, man. Definitely buying a sticker for this giveaway.
@rustymohr6652 Жыл бұрын
Clever idea and since he wants to chop the windshield anyways it would seem like way less metal fab on 2 door tops than 2 quarter panel tops.

Mon Cacey I understand where your coming from doing this kinda work you almost need to have 4 hands to set stuff up to weld. Just clamping stuff together is half the battle. Easy part is welding. Yup loving your blazer Kustom is the way to go! Everyone has a stock blazer yours is going to be one off. That's why I was saying I would have used a suburban top because there are plenty of them out there.

@@CaseysCustoms ahh okay, well that’s unfortunate, but I’m really liking that c notch setup, as far as the doors I’m thinking it might be nice if you added some to the bedsides? And then maybe you could even tie the raised sides into a low profile spoiler that matches the height and it would tie it all in really well, but I guess it depends on your taste I’m not necessarily a fan of spoilers and I’m not sure how it would even fit ones you put the blazer cap on.

Instead of chopping the windshield I believe on these you can sink the windshield down into the cowl.

shave the tailgate and add a roll pan. its a much cleaner look. for the front window it needs to lay back more. its to straight up and down. you could v cut the cab from the cowl panel to the back of the cab. that would allow for the from window to lay back and for the top of the door the blend into the bed and take care of the corner you dont like.

How did the rear upper body line lay out with the straight cut? I always do the offset cut or whatever you want to call it when I cut a 67-72 bedside
@CaseysCustoms Жыл бұрын
Laid out perfect, i thought people Only did the offset cut to shave the turn signal
@justinfletcher5189 Жыл бұрын
@@CaseysCustoms good to know. I was taught,and believed the offset cut was necessary every time. did my personal truck a couple months ago shaved the marker only because there was body damage i could not avoid any other way I have another bed to do for a truck I’m going to sell as a roller built from shit I have laying around the shop but it’s also enough stuff to build a blazer for myself…. looking forward to Seeing how it plays out with the pickup rear cab crossmember still in place. Potentially a Huge time saver on a blazer conversion. I’ve always wanted a 69-72 blazer with 67/8 front clip chop the windshield 3” or so and lay it back some chop the doors down to the top of the quarter panel shave the window openings in the doors making a blazer roadster of sorts,completely impractical but it’s been on my mind for 20 years.

Do you ever look back on some of the past builds and say dam I really got better ? To the untrained eye everything you do is pretty much gods work and we have no clue how much skill or time goes into this stuff. Have you ever thought about doing a video that has nothing to do with cars just like you talking about your inspiration and how you got all these abilities?
