Best combine ever had at the farm we had two Gleaner L2 and one L3. Cleaner grain sample then the JD 9600. Will never forget dad always opening the right window to check the return elevator and cranking away making adjustments beside the seat.

Hey Nick them hills of yours are just little rises if you want to see some hills come to east Tennessee and I will show you some hills enjoyed the video
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin2 жыл бұрын
Choke it😆😂 Should be a 2900?? Or maybe a 3900?? Either way, good engines! I know the leaning L had the 3900.. flat ground M had the 2900.. same as the 200 tractor. Fired up nicely 👍 and everything seems to work!! I'd take it, we had really good luck with the gleaners we had. Hills..lol.. that's a hump and a dip.. lol. You've seen some of our hills 😆😂😆😂 Gotta remember, that unloading auger was fancy back then! All the others swung by hand or hydraulic, but left the bin open.. on flat ground, they didn't dribble much, but in the hills, you left a trail.. Gleaner didn't... I'm surprised up there, it didn't have the extra fuel tank.. Good to see the other side of the video.. Robbie left some stuff out..lol

How well we all remember the 70s with all the problems. Production shortfalls due to adverse weather conditions just about everywhere were pretty much what compounded the situation. That year it was like every bit of silage going into the silos was precious. And at least we had some great classic rock music playing on the tractor radio while we did our work in the fields. Thank you for allowing me to share South Sask Farmer.

I am from Wasco County in the state of Oregon that is flat ground. Being a former AC mechanic I have been around C`s G`s Mh`s and N`s. Never touched an L but I know the Mh and the N`s had weak rear axle spindles. I have had more than one wheel fall off. I was backing an N out a barn in the winter for repairs and a wheel fell off.

We used to have a L2, upgraded to a R series. People call them silver seeders but that couldn't be further from the truth. Last year when we harvested wheat we had very little regrowth. The neighbors field was green as can be a week later. He runs a newer JD
@lukestrawwalker2 жыл бұрын
JD does two things wrong with their combines-- 1) the use a stupid auger bed system to move the grain and chaff from under the rotor (or cylinder/concave on older conventionals) to the cleaning shoe. 2) their cleaning shoe isn't big enough for the capacity of the machine. Antiquated auger bed systems like Deere and CIH use MIX all the grain and chaff as it moves back down the auger bed, and then discharges it into pulses as the auger flighting rakes it over the edge of the auger bed, where it falls on the precleaner they need to TRY to sort out the mess before it arrives on the cleaning shoe chaffer and sieve. Combines that use a GRAIN PAN to move the material from under the cylinder/concave or rotor back to the cleaning shoe PRE-SIFT and SORT the material, with the denser, heavier grain moving to the bottom, and the lighter chaff and trash sifting to the top, so as it pours over the rake with each forward sweep of the cleaning shoe and grain pan, the heavier grain pours straight through and drops through the jet of cleaning air from the fans, while the lighter chaff on top and behind the grain, most of it blows straight out the back, before it ever reaches the chaffer and sieve. Auger bed machines that deliver it all mixed together, the chaff drops through the rake with the grain and TRIES to get blown out, but a lot of the grain is in the way and holds it back, until it spreads out on the chaffer and the sifting and shaking sorts it out and lets the air blow it out the back. All this extra sifting and spreading causes more grain to ride out the back with the chaff if you turn the cleaning fan up trying to get a clean sample, and more chaff and junk to make it to the grain tank, when you cut the air back to prevent excess grain from riding out the back. Gleaner, Claas, and New Holland have grain pans and from everything I've seen always produce a cleaner sample and have less loss than machines like auger bed machines like Deere's and CIH's. Later! OL J R :)

I saw Robbie made sure to get some mud on the fenders of the McCormick 😳😆😂 Our old Case-IH dealer made a header trailer for each store, they made it so any header would go on it.. so, we copied their design. Works great for all the different brands we've had on it, but it's a bit tall..
