YES does no wrong ever. This tour in Dallas, Jon was giving his intro to this song, and I yelled out “I love you Jon”. He giggled but never looked my way. When we were allowed to go down front to the stage, he reached thru the small crowd, took my hand and said I Love You Too. How did he know it was me? LOL.

HOLY SHIT! I am sooo glad that I lived in this era! I thought the future of music was going to be amazing, but that future never came. Nobody has ever assembled a more (multi)talented group (Jon, Chris, Steve, Bruford/White and Rick) of musicians. I love seeing new generations finding, and appreciating, YES. The giant set of drums that you mentioned around Alan White were there because they did RITUAL on this tour, and those drums play a big part in that song. You should watch that from the 35th Anniversary video. That entire concert is amazing. "And You And I" is also especially excellent from this tour.

I have been a YES fan since 1972 when Roundabout was on the radio as a young teen. I have lucky enough to have seen YES live from 1976-2011 in many forms. All of which were great. I became a bass player because of Chris Squire the GOAT. RIP Chris and Alan.

One of the things about Jon’s singing is that he does it without any help from studio tricks. The guy can SING - gentle and angelic to balls to the wall aggressive. Back in the day during live performances you could hear him just singing little bits between songs - brilliant. Technically and emotionally one of the true greats of our time - and he still has it! >> Have you reacted to any songs from Relayer? All three tunes from that 1974 release are eye/soul opening and your metal sensibilities will be put on notice. The keyboard player is different-just as skilled as Wakeman but with jazz rather than classical leanings. Keep up the good work!

I have always loved Bruford's understated drumming in the middle section of the studio version, but this live version is also great, particularly since they rarely play this song live (I never saw them do it live in the 70's). I don't know if you have reacted to Relayer or Tales yet, but those two albums will re-define your concept of music (yet again). Also, it's not technically Yes, but the live version of Awaken with Jon and Todmobile is a religious experience, with full orchestra and choir.

You have to hear from the same Concert: 'Mind Drive (Parts 1 & 2)' and the phantastic 'Ritual (Nous sommes du Soleil' with the superb Drum-Section - Alan White, Chris Squire (Kettle-Drum), Jon Anderson & Steve Howe - all togehter playing Drums & Percussion. The Perfomance of theese two Pieces are phenomenal. But, indeed: The entire 35th Anniversary 'Live at Tsongas' Duration almost 3 Hours is absolutely phantastic! I was there in 2004 in Munich/Germany! Interesting Fact: Even though this song first appeared on the 1972 "Fragile" album, for some reason the band never played it live (at least here in the States) until 2002. Thus, for this 2004 performance, it was almost new to them as well.

Saw them on the 35th Aniversary tour, in Birmingham, UK, 2004. What a fabulous night, the set list was fantastic, loved the acoustic section of songs, they were in great form (as you can tell by this) and I cried during Ritual. On the way out, I suddenly said in a very positive manner……”That’s the last time I’m going to see them”……the friend I was with, looked at me with a astonished face, as if to say, why on earth wouldn’t you want to see them again. Well of course I did see them again, but never again, with Jon Anderson as the singer…………

Those drums are for "Ritual." May want to check it out. "Turn of the Century," from this concert seeing as though Jon A's voice heavily featured. And don't forget about Jon A and Todmobile on Awaken. The Songs from Tsongas and Symphonic Live DVDs are my particular favorites. "In the Presence Of," on the latter. "Gates of Delirium," also. Hell, just watch them all. LOL (This coming from someone who went to all the live tours from 1986 until 2017). In 2017, there was a spin off group called "Anderson Rabin Wakeman (ARW) and they have a live DVD "From the Apollo". You can watch them rocking in their 70s with Jon A sounding like Jon A even then. I met him also (during this tour in 2004) when he was walking around in the shopping area at a casino. I hugged him because I was so starstruck. He was very nice about it and talked to me for a few minutes.

Yes was the first major group I ever saw in concert, during the Relayer tour in 73 or 74 been so long ago I forget the year. You mention the drums in this video. During the Relayer concert I saw in Pittsburgh the drum set was the wildest drums I've ever seen. Every drum had a bell on the bottom that looked like the bell on a tuba. The bass drum it came straight out and the rest of the drums had a 90 degree turn on them with the bell also pointing straight out. I've never seen a set of drums like that any where.

Yes, Rick is a humorous person. On the Tales From Topographic Oceans tour, there were lengths of time, of the music, that Rick was not required to play. So, on a gig in the UK, prior to the show, he instructed a roadie to get him a "Curry." During the performance, when he was not required to play the keyboards, and while the others members of YES were playing, he ate the curry on stage.

This isn't my fave version (plodding tempo, wimpy guitar tone, Alan's stupid floor tom props, etc.), but there are so few live renditions out there and this is probably the best. And the trading solos at the end was usually fun. But that tour... so much potential and it ultimately didn't deliver. And of course everything went to sh*t afterwards with Jon's health issues and Rick bailing.

@@L33Reacts Maybe you should only play studio recordings with old progrock in your reactions. The music is too demanding. Much later versions of these iconic bands dont pay them justice too. This live version is more lame folk-rock. Mediocre drumming too. I admired Allan Whites work when he took over. Different animal.

Exactly! (his wanting to mosh around) YES rock. They all are absolute killers on their instruments and can arrange it so it flat out shreds. Some people think of YES as boring noodling and Mozart. Until they hear them. I consider them a psychedelic rock band who took the road of practicing and grew their sound as they went further down that road. They are definitely Prog, Art Rock, and the rest, but they are a rock band. In your free time I hope you listen to YES on real speakers. Get those big bass sound waves hitting your whole body. I worry the kids today only know headphones and tiny Bluetooth speakers.

You should watch Yours is no Disgrace from the 35th anniversary. I believe it's the best version. Steve Howe is superb.

4:09 Not only does he also do some stand up, but he told some jokes at their induction into the RRHOF. A good reaction video for you would be to listen to that, and also Alex Lifeson's speech. Both are must listens : )

They slowed it down at the beginning, then extended it at the end, at least compared to the studio version. 🥰
