That roar of the CFM56 engine is something else.
@UrPilotNatt2 жыл бұрын
It's so much better the seat behind the wing because you can hear the engine AND the jet blast. The CFM56 is a wonderful engine. I cannot express how bad a word the engine sounds from behind the wing. I get so excited when hearing the engine. Tip for future flights, sit at a seat 1 row behind (2 rows behind if taken) the wing. The window seat is preferable as it is louder.

"fastest taxi out time i've ever had from Orlando" 17R is very close to the SWA gates. On a first flight of the day for the airplane we have a preferred 5 min warm up time for the engines before going to TakeOff thrust. Sometimes we have to really slow down to get that when we're using that runway. Even the 2 min (3 when the MAXs come back) warmup time for non first flights can be an issue on that runway.

I use to love flying, then I started suffering from really bad anxiety due to an unrelated event and now all the things I use to love like flying had made me a nervous wreck. Damn near be about to pass out lol. Last flight I was on was in 2017 from LA to DC. Hopefully I can return to the air some day, slowly building the courage to get back up there. Nice video!

Flying is one of THE most safest modes of transportation there is. They're made to take an extraordinary amount of punishment. And you can rest your mind assured that extraordinary amount of punishment you will never see. Enjoy the skies 🙂✈

Orlando International airport used to be McCoy AFB back in the 60's to the 80"s. Was a BIG B-52 Bomber base. When it closed the city took it over and re-built it for the main city airport. I've flown in a couple of times. If you know where to look when you take off, you can still see the "Christmas Tree" bomber alert ramp where the Air Force planes were constantly on alert 24/7 days a week during the Cold War.

They actually didn’t have super high takeoff thrust. Sounded like about 88% N1
@brq442 жыл бұрын
well how much do you usually use for takeoff?
@centralcontroller64832 жыл бұрын
@@brq44 Depends on weight, weather, and runway length and any sort of noise abatement procedures. So it can range Anywhere from a full thrust takeoff in the high 90s of N1 (98-100). Down to around 85 on long runways with good conditions and low weights.

Just after wheels up and before most of the clouds got in the way, if you knew where to look you could just barely make out the "CHRISTMAS TREE" alert ramp--- just off the opposite runway to the far-left southwest corner---for B-52's when the field was McCoy AFB back in the day! ( MCO ) Looks like they park some stored aircraft there today. A remnant of the old Air Force days.

When the title says takeoff and it's twelve min long and 8 min is taxi, I get a little disappointed. On video that has such great quality I would have preferred more airtime, anyway it was great from liftoff to the end, just to short for me! 🎉
