I stumbled upon your channel because I have been watching a lot of channels about growing for my recent dive into pepper farming. I don't know anything about mycology or mushroom farming in general but I really enjoyed listening to you talk. You are obviously super passionate about it and it shows with your in depth knowledge and intuitive explanations that even keep a mushroom noob like myself entertained with what you're doing and talking about. Cheers my dude.

Thanks for all the videos. I know it is a lot of work to produce/edit this kind of content. I am just a home DIY guy getting into things but this channel has been a great place to learn. I dove in head first on growing mushrooms when a red oak came down on our property in a storm. I've got 16" big shitake logs inoculated with sawdust spawn. We also had a few hundred pounds of sawdust from milling up some dimensional lumber out of that tree and we have 12 10# bags of lions mane that she just finished inoculating yesterday. I've done some spray and grow kits before but this is the first time trying to make our own. I've really enjoyed the process so far.

@Southwest Mushrooms: If the Lion's Mane grows so well from the top, have you experimented with other mushrooms? The blue and pink oysters looked like they were ready to fruit on top, so I was very curious about if you had tried it or not, and if it was at all possible to get the same results as the Lion's Mane. I love your videos and mushrooms, in combination, you've convinced me to try growing mushrooms myself and experimenting. Thank you for all the content, I can't express how grateful I am for you, and people like you. You give forward a passion that lives on in a multitude of people around this world. That is incredibly awe-inspiring.

I've seen some limited papers about mushroom metabolites acting as insulin and being theoretically usable for significantly more effective sugar leveling. And how some people after accidentally consuming it develop an intolerance to alcohol. Something about how it causes such a ruckus in your kidneys when combined with alcohol your body just ejects it.

Hey man thanks, for sharing, I find interesting that you said that few mushrooms can grow on pine, the guy from Oak and Spore here in youtube is located in New Zealand, and there he can only find pelletized pine soft wood, he even have a video comparing the yields with oak hardwood vs pine, I think that in the end, the hardwood subtrate was like 3 -5% better, but its was way more than 2x the price of softwood so it didn't make sense to him (froma business perspective) to change his substrate
