Enjoying this series a lot, has me wanting to play through the game again myself! My one tip for you is when you're placing wooden platforms, remember that you can rotate them which makes clearing some larger gaps a lot easier!

@SovereignRPG Not free rotation sadly. The world space is built on a square by square structure so everything has to be placed at a 'right angle'. This is why in some 'rooms', when you try to place a platform or build, stuff will be at a wonky angle - this mostly happens in those little grassy water areas that usually have a mostly built house in the middle, it looks like a cool place to make a base but then you try to build and it's a nightmare.

When the brethren delve deep, 5 iron ingots make a repair forge. As for the Shadow mist, you need to find two things, a statue of Durin and sing, or restore the Durin Lamps, so have stone, true quartz, and granite. The lamps are usually by dwarves statues. I love this game, can't wait to try co-op Autism note: the lamp for the mist was right there. I love how there is no hand holding in this game.

Its just weird that I cannot actually clear or build the lamps until I get down to the lower level. There is no T3 wood on this floor and its needed to make the First Age Pickaxe to get the T2 Stone to rebuild the lamp. Ill have to come back up and clear them when I get down to the next floor. It is really nice that there is no hand holding.

Very entertaining video, I'm enjoying watching them. When dealing with Trolls or other foes that are hard to block you can use the roll dodge (left CTRL, unless you have reconfigured your hot keys) and if you drank the Hopgoblet lager or use that item that gives you more stamina (I don't remember what it's called, it's a new thing) you can usually out run the Trolls.

You should fill your main slotbar with different weapons (hammer, sword, shield, different runes), best axe & food from the oven. You always want to do yellow damage numbers. Btw you can build the first age pickaxe. It can mine the granite… You can watch all the recipes & where to build them in the recipe menu (access through the field crafting menu). Ohh remember the scaffolding you found on the way to the descent but take some lembas with you ;)

Your mines are suprisingly small compared to the ones on my map, and i also cant see any connectors to Orctown - unless im dumb and connectors no longer show up on the big map. Its one of those tiny details you quickly forget. But if your save doesnt have a connector to orc town on it, you wont be able to progress. One of Durin's Axe's fragments is hidden within it - and by taking Orctown out you remove the potential for horde attacks in the Mines area. And on an unrelated note, your first troll interaction is about the same as mine (x Except in my case my dwarf was singing about a troll right as I mined through that rock. Ended up cheesing the bugger with arrows. They are incredibly tanky to take down but there are 2 ways to kill em easier; Option 1; Sunlight. Sunlight will instantly kill a troll and turn em into a nice statue. Unfortunately, theres no sunlight in the mines. Option 2; Lure a band of orcs/uruks/wargs to the troll. Orcs hate trolls more than they hate dwarves. Had a fight last night where an Orc fought side by side with me after a troll wiped his company. Poor bugger got killed by the troll as well though, just before the troll himself went down.

The orc town connector (not only that one) shows up once you have found the right “height” ie going up or down a wooden scaffolding or stone stair on the way to the descent. I left my trolls until i found better weapons 😂 you can robb them pretty easily once you get the hang of it

I'm far too used to seeing that little red blip on the map (x Meanwhile for trolls I just lure them near orcs xD Cant go wrong with some backup when facing those big lads. Unfortunately this does not work for trolls spawned in a siege

@@shoulderpyro i’ve seen that exact question a billion times on reddit or the discord😂 but yeah usually the connectors show up… not sure why some dont until you mine the entryway On my 1st world i was lucky orc town & descent were on the same level as the base! Its an old world tho

@@kevin4324 Aye in my case some of the orc encampments like the one in dwarrowdelf and the desolation showed up immediately upon unlocking the room they connect to, same with the one in the Lower Deeps. The only one I actually had to actively look for is the final one. I'm keeping it vague here on purpose to not spoil it for others (x ..but damn I hate those particular ones. I'm not sure if I'd rather have them now or when Durin's Bane was still around

You should've built a floor above, that's what I did, and the orcs were never able to destroy my base... and always platform. Above ground level when going through new compact dirt.

The orcs with armor take more damage from blunt… slashing does more to unarmored enemies

On the way to the ranger's camp there was a room with a shaft downwards. You could try going down and seeing if it opens up more rooms in your mine. there should be a big orc camp somewhere where you can fight a boss orc and get lots of black diamonds which you can use to repair the way down into the crystal deep.

@@SovereignRPGyou found a structure that had stairs. You smashed stuff and fell through the floor a bit. If you climb up the attached ladder, you might find the orc town. It was up stairs in one of my worlds. One time it looked like a house but had switch back stairs that went up a ways. But it is usually down by the blue area, the crystal descent( not down the descent yet)There is a blue diamond on your map (Labeled “search area”). That is orc town and your next ax fragment. Just not sure where there is a break in the wall.

@@SovereignRPG You're welcome! I'm enjoying watching you play, and it wasn't easy to find. It was it the ne corner where you turn left towards the camp if I'm remembering right. A room that looked a bit different than the normal caves with an opening in the floor in the middle, with scaffolding down. It didn't look like an obvious way down, but it should work. You will also sometimes come across the scaffolding from the bottom so it's good to learn how to recognize these up/down passages from both ways.

There is a way to get rid of the miasma you have to repair the markers in that area

which is easier said than done until you reach the final zone. It requires materials he cant obtain yet - namely Sunstone, adamant and Khuzdul Ingots. Until you can I recommend my method: Building quick platforms just above the shadow. You can traverse them this way without getting hit by the curse

You did a lot of things in the UI the hard way. Too late to tell you now. (IE, not just spamming the repair button in the repair UI and manually clicking everything).
