@CitizenAmuro I've read multiple books on it. Pretty sure I have a good grasp on it. Most of the narrative is BS
@leos8019 Жыл бұрын
@@midnightrose23 Depending on what those books where, their narrative could be BS. I studied much history (minored in it) and have taken some political theory classes at university; what I came to conclude on the USSR (really all nations) is that the bureaucrats corrupted a dream that truly was meant for the people...as it always does. Its not so different than the US and the belief that capitalism is the go-to for equality and liberty, that's a line of BS. While people can point to the various socialist and communist nations and say they are failures, people cant seem to take a look at the state of their own nation and realize that theirs is not so great either; if that was the case, there would have been no Great Depression or housing crisis of 2008. Capitalism fails just as any other economic theory, and its simple as to why; our human minds are not infallible and our tendency toward corruption all but guarantees that the minority who have power will use that to subjugate others under the guise of "liberty", "equality", "unity"; in short the guise of a utopia. What I like more about the socialist and communist political theories, is that it recognizes the struggle of class warfare and the dictatorship of the minority. For the USSR, it was founded on this idea and had sought to bring the "dictatorship of the proletariat", but since power corrupts (as it always does) there came to power one man whose early life was noted as being a bank robber, he came to power through manipulation, murder, and intimidation. Be it the robber barons (of the late 1800's to the early 20th century), the corrupt bureaucrats of would be great nations, or the oligarchs (though their corporate entities of the late 20th century to the present day), no nation is safe from corruption; no nation can be a beacon of an idealistic utopia.

1944. At this point the Soviets were on course to take Berlin. In fact the front line of the war went from closer to Moscow to closer to Berlin within the year. After Kursk it was pretty much over for the Southern front and after an offensive in the north that crushed most of the German army it was pretty much over. So overall 1944 was when the Soviets pushed the Germans out of their land and were pushing back.

Scott Faulkner The US anthem is not an amazing song, it's not bad, but it's hardly good. It isn't really admired anywhere outside of the US. Not that it matters, an anthem should matter to it's people, what other nations see in it is irrelevant.

Scott Faulkner Personally, I think it sends a good message. Unfortunately, the "way the message was sent" was quite horrible.

Long may our Crimson Flag inspire Shining in glory for all men to see. @@gimmeabreak4435 first of all I was talking about the anthem. I know alot of the Soviet times were bad but it mainly depends on when and where in the Soviet Union are we talking about in the major cities during the 50s to the 80s living conditions weren't that bad. Schooling in the Soviet Union from the early days was free and was quite good And living in the USSR is quite safe as the stingy ass government checks everything that goes into the country so addictive/harmful drugs pretty much didn't exist there Of course there are food scarcity here and there but usually you get necessary food like bread and such And Of course everybody had to work, the adults went to work in factories and such while the children cleaned the streets whether it was freezing or boiling weather. And technology came slow as fuck in 1976 only two thirds of Soviet families had refrigerators while the USA got there in the 1930s. there was alot of disease and Life expectancy actually fell in the Soviet Union during the 1960s and 1970s. And By the US poverty measure, well over half of the Soviet population was poor But for every bad thing there was something good in return Edit:and alot of genocide I guess.

I was alive before the fall of the soviet union. While I don't remember much form that time, I do know that the US spent a lot of money making capitalism look good so that they could make communism look bad. I won't say which was good and which was the evil virus of satan, but not long after the USSR fell, quality of life in the US took a nosedive.

@@aninditapaul9291 Agreed 100%. When run correctly, communism is the most humane political system. Unfortunately, Mr Stalin was not capable of running it correctly. After his death, Khrushchev reformed the USSR and quality of life vastly increased. The Soviets developed many scientific breakthroughs and were very successful. Lastly, remember that communism turned Russia from a land of peasants into a global superpower in 30 years.

Lyrics: United forever in friendship and labour Our mighty republics will ever endure The Great Soviet Union will live through the ages The dream of a people their fortress secure Long live our Soviet motherland Built by the people's mighty hand Long live our people, united and free Strong in our friendship tried by fire Long may our crimson flag inspire Shining in glory for all men to see Through days dark and stormy where Great Lenin lead us Our eyes saw the bright sun of freedom above And Stalin our leader with faith in the people Inspired us to build up the land that we love Long live our Soviet motherland Built by the people's mighty hand Long live our people, united and free Strong in our friendship tried by fire Long may our crimson flag inspire Shining in glory for all men to see We fought for the future, destroyed the invaders And brought to our homeland the laurels of fame Our glory will live in the memory of nations And all generations will honor her name Long live our Soviet motherland Built by the people's mighty hand Long live our people, united and free Strong in our friendship tried by fire Long may our crimson flag inspire Shining in glory for all men to see.

@@lennaertvlasblom952 Communism isn’t that bad. The issue is humans are generally too corrupt, greedy, etc for a perfect Communism Utopia. The terrible anti-communism going throughout the world should be stopped. The USSR was bad, sure, in some areas. Some areas were terribly poor, taxed, hungry, and with 1 too many Gopniks. But there were also places witch had achieved perfect Communism. I would think that Communism would have been a widespread thing if power hungry rulers like Stalin existed. Sorry, it’s 3 am and I went on a rant

@@theamazingquetzal3933 That is why I’m capitalist,I agree with you,one another problem with communism is that someone who works way less can get just as much as someone who works more.Its pretty much stealing at that point.And the government would have to much power in a communist utopia,they would control all the means of production.I do think anti-communist ideas should spread.Just because of the things I have mentioned
