I'm from America and I've loved cars all my life and honestly there's something the draws me to Soviet cars specifically. We don't see them at all here other than a occasional uaz 469 at a military show. I'd love to get a lada or something like that. The soviets really made some tough equipment and cars/trucks. Soviet design for vehicles is honestly really neat IMO. If I ever get the chance to buy a ZIL 157 I will lol

Believe or not but this Russian’s dream car is a Lada Niva, hah! 😄 Soviet cars are special, not always in the best of way, quality wise, but they have boat loads of character and if it’s not a vehicle you have to depend on, it will be more than a fun adventure in ownership. Not to mention prices of parts are cheap, at least here in Russia and that’s if you need new parts. Most Ladas and similar cars can be fixed with a shoestring and some oil 😄😊
@Chris-yy5pj2 жыл бұрын
@@Snarkova that's so cool. The niva is a great car for the price from what I heard. I have always loved the Soviet vehicles, the most commonly available Soviet/Russian vehicles in America are Ural motorcycles. They're fairly expensive at 20k+ new but they are built like a absolute tank. I'll probably end up getting a Ural sometime in a couple years. Maybe years down the road I'll buy a ZiL or a UAZ but you are right. Ladas are so reliable and easy to fix. I truly believe that the lada is probably the best economical car ever designed...

wow your СССР history videos are an absolute treat, about to watch this for the second time lol and this new setup looks extra neat fren I only recognized LADA, my grandfather talked a lot about this brand lmao like you said it's the most popular one, didn't know they still made it to this day

Thank you 😁! I was wondering what you'd think of it! It's a bit less dark than the last one, which might not be ideal for ASMR but I think it's a bit nicer of an atmosphere ☺️ СССР is a big part of Russia still, and there's just so much to learn! Amongst things to learn about is of course Lada 😇 I went to a dealership this summer and sat in one and a few other old soviet cars still made today and they're just awesome! If you ever get the chance to experience one in one way or another, do it ☺️ Thank you for checking out my videos and giving me your support. Had it not been for support like yours I don't think I would've kept going for this long (almost a year!). Please take care 🥰❤️

As a huge car lover, this was so interesting, because I don’t really know much about Soviet cars, so all of these were new to me, except the Lada of course. Anyway, thank you for sharing these!

Очень интересно видео, would be really cool and interesting to have a video about the soviet space rockets. I love everything related with space and the soviets had some of the most advanced rockets at the time. As always an amazing video and I'm glad you came back, missed you ❤ (also, nice telecaster in the background)

I'm happy to know you enjoyed the video, thank you! ❤️ I've been missing being active here on the channel myself, and it feels good to be back! The idea of making a video about soviet space rockets sounds great for me, I will definitely do my research and make such a video 😍 Is there any specific model of a space rocket you have in mind and don't want me to miss? Thank you for complimenting the telecaster! It's not a Fender though, but a homemade one! 🐱😛 Take care, my friend! 🥰

@@Snarkova I'm sorry, I thought I had already replied but seems like youtube decided not to post my comment. I think the one space rocket that can't be missed is the союз because it is still used to fly since the 60's. But the one I would like to know more is the Energia - Buran, since it's like the direct competitor of the american space shuttle. Also, the guitar looks beautiful, I would love to make a guitar by myself but I don't have the tools nor the time, maybe in the future.

When I was young and my father was alive, our family would always have two cars. We'd have one car that was nice that we would use for fancier things. Then we would have a cheap car that we would use if we went to the poorer part of town and blend in. My father was a doctor, so during the earlier part of my life, we were well off. He died right after I turned 12. Since my mother had to go back to work, we only had the cheap car - the bad car - for years afterwards: The 1990 Toyota Tercel EZ. This car was awful. It was a four-speed manual. There was no air conditioning. During the summer, it would get up to 40C and we would drive six hours to see my sister. The only option would be to roll down the window and have the hot air blow in our faces. There was no radio in the car. My sister had put a radio in, but the car wasn't designed for speakers. So whenever you listened to songs on the radio, there would be this buzzing sound at certain frequencies. It was a loud buzz - the kind of buzz I imagine a mosquito would make if it were the size of a cat. The radio dial was small and finicky. We lived in the hills, so we didn't always get reception. So my mother had a few cassette tapes that she would play on repeat. Ace of Base - The Sign. The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over. With time, I learned to hate these bands since I would only hear these songs in THAT car. I pleaded with my mother to get another car. She said she couldn't afford another one. After my mother got remarried, she finally got a new car. 9-10 years after, they finally had that hell on wheels hauled away. As an adult, I drive the nicest car I can afford to make up for the years I spent in that monstrosity. And yet, I've come to appreciate bad things. Bad cars make you appreciate good cars. Bad movies make you appreciate good movies. Bad song covers make you appreciate the originals. And as I got older, I started getting nostalgic about the 1990 Toyota Tercel EZ. In 2012, I found a car just like the one my mother drove for sale. I spent $1300 for it, drove it to my mother's house and parked it in the driveway. And there it sat for a few years more. Just a small story about the worst car I've had. Whenever people talk about the Lada, I think of that car. I know you didn't cover that car in this video, but still :) The GAZ-M20 Pobeda is gorgeous, by the way. --- Anyway, thank you for this video, Snarkova. I'm always delighted when I see new videos from you. Whenever I go someplace new, I always look and see at what cars are on the road. Everywhere I've been, I see car brands I recognize, but models that are different. I can only imagine what it must have been like to travel to the USSR and have absolutely *everything* be different - different cars, different beverages, different restaurant chains. American culture has a way of seeping into everything, and Russia was immune to it... for a while at least. I hope you're doing great. I'll be home next week! We're in Malta right now for the next few days though, so going to do some exploring in a little bit. --Mark

Hey, Mark! I had to look up a 1990 Toyota Tercel and I quite like the way it looks... It looks quite... 90s... If that makes sense. I wasn't around much during the 90s but those were the cars I grew up with as well. The soviet union era had ended just before I was born so imports were still not common around here but that slowly changed of course. We had our versions of your Toyotas (mostly Ladas) and having been in a few I'm not struggling to imagine your anger at your Toyota... Nostalgia is a funny thing though, turning the thankfully old and long gone into strangely lusted after pieces of a life to such an extent we might end up chasing another equally poor one in the future 😅 I haven't had this experience with a car because I'm what you would call "car-less", but anything from old video games to clothes, to a useless hair dryer, have come my way in the shape of nostalgia 😅. I bet there's a term for this! I also like your mother's taste in music! Although nothing kills a good song more than it being played too often. By the way, what car replaced the Toyota? If you look for cars on your journeys, Russia does not disappoint! Nowadays we have the modern imports I imagine you'd find in your own neighborhood but there's also a large number of soviet cars still being used simply cause they're still around. They might be literally horse powered (mostly not) but you'd definitely enjoy your car spotting time 😁. And while on the subject of American culture seeping in, my mother was at the opening of Russia's first McDonald's in Moscow 1990. There was a massive queue that still comes up when talking sometimes. There's some footage of it on KZbin I recommend, it's a very interesting event to behold ☺️ I hope you'll thoroughly enjoy your stay in Malta! Sadly, a country I've never visited... Either... 🙄 I can imagine you'll be needing sunscreen more than I do in Russia at the moment 😁 Thank you for your kind words as always, Mark 🥰 Take care and be safe! ❤️ P.s. I've ridden in a M20 Pobeda once! Every single gear change was crunchy as the driver tried to find it while trying to talk to the rest of the occupants of the car 😂 The seats were terrific though!
