I am a "voice professional" for my family. I've went to multiple ENTs and even a voice therapist and no one knew what I had. 4 YEARS later I found your videos. Thank you so much for giving me hope I may have my voice again pain free
@healthyvoicetips Жыл бұрын
Nice to meet you too (virtually). Pain is a complex phenomenon and needs a different type of approach than just vocal exercises. I have a free resource. It explains how pain is perceived in our bodies and what goes into it. When you know how pain in your body works, you will know how to deal with it. Here is the link: www.vocalfreedomsystem.com/pain Let me know if you have any questions. Also, I made several other videos on this topic on this channel you can watch.

Thank you so much for your videos! What books about the voice (especially about the singing voice) do you recommend?
@healthyvoicetips2 жыл бұрын
I've got plenty of books but I don't recommend books any more. You have to play with your voice, you have to experience it. No book will give that to you. Unless you are looking for some knowledge about anatomy, physiology or some other theory. What kind of information are you looking for?

Hi Katarina, when I sing at church or speak to a large group, I have a consistently strong voice. But my conversational speaking voice is very inconsistent. Some days, it's fairly deep and strong and requires little effort. On other days, it is remarkably weak and raspy. I thought that anxiety might be a factor, but my weak voice can emerge in circumstances in which I'm not nervous at all. What do you recommend?

Sorry to hear about your vocal difficulty. Have you been assessed by a laryngologist? That’s the first step I highly recommend in solving vocal problems. If you're interested in a personal evaluation, I'd invite you to contact me here: www.vocalfreedomsystem.com

Where do I get a straw like one which u have demonstrated!
@healthyvoicetips Жыл бұрын
There are many different straws on the market. I showed a few straws in this video so I am not sure which one you exactly refer to. If it is the stainless steam one, I got it from a dollar store but you can buy them on Amazon or in health stores (fitness stores). I would however, suggest that you first try something inexpensive to see if they have benefits for you and only then invest in something more expensive.

The straw without the water are you pushing air out of the straw?

You are doing exactly what you would do with a straw in water - you blow air through the straw while making sounds.

For how many minutes and times we can do straw exercises in a day ? Help please
@healthyvoicetips Жыл бұрын
It depends on your goal. Everyone's needs are different but generally, a few minutes several times a day. They are gentle exercises so if you are not creating tension while doing them, they will not hurt you.

Absolutely normal. The more you practice, the smoother it becomes.

@@healthyvoicetips I also notice more bubbles as I go up in pitch. Is that inefficiency? I should try to keep the bubbles the same at different pitches? Thank you
@healthyvoicetips2 жыл бұрын
Yes, try to keep them the same. The bubbles are a great visual to guide you in how much air and pressure to use for each pitch. great work!

Bel canto teachers think straw theory is snake oil.✔✔

Of course, there will be always people who do not agree. That is fine.
@GaryRichards-cb1fc9 ай бұрын
in Bel Canto training/building of the voice, straw theory has no place. it may be enjoyable, even fun, but there are better breath exercises. snake oil is what it is. the newest old fad. reinvent the wheel. many like it and for them, okay, but not for bel canto. @@healthyvoicetips
