Pro Dirt Biker Reacts to His Own Race (and crash)

Professional dirt bike racer, Brad Groombridge recently competed in Round 3 of the 2022 New Zealand Grand National Cross Country championship! I’d heard that he was going to be there, so mailed him a GoPro helmet camera with an endurance battery setup in advance to wear during the race. It turned out to be an absolute rollercoaster, and Brad captured every second of it! Unfortunately though, he got injured in another motocross race the following weekend. So, off work and with nothing better to do… He joined me on Zoom to watch and react to the footage! Offering unique insight into his thoughts and feelings during this action-packed race!

Love these long-format vids Ash. Real treat to have this POV footage. Highlights how fast guys like Brad really are. As a recreational rider, I am all too familiar with how much energy you can blow through when recovering from a mistake. The way Brad manages to hunt and gain ground is completely ridiculous.

That was an awesome video. I'm not normally a fan of just watching helmet cam videos (unless I'm learning tracks/skills etc) but the commentary and reviewing made it an amazing watch especially such a tense race. I was on the edge on my seat right up to the end there and was so chuffed for the other guy when he realised he was actually on the podium you could see he was pushing his hardest to try and achieve it. What a ride from Brad for that epic recovery and showing off that he is proper weapon of a rider and a pleasure to watch him ride. Hats off to the lady that stopped and scuppered her own race to help a fellow rider out. Keep up the great work Ash loving your videos.

There's been a whole bunch of people reporting this same thing on the Herlings vid, and it's just music to my ears because this sport has loads to offer... but it's just a bit hard to get into if you don't already have family that are into it or something like that. I like the way he doesn't shout at noobs when they are in the way. I did a 3hr race few years back and it was horrible experience for new lad like myself people shouting at you and literally driving over you if you where int way. In my experience it didn't make me get out of the way quicker probably made it worse

Kudos to every Rider on this track! Seem it Pro or Am. It is so challenging and draining for the brain (and the muscles) when you do tracks like this, absolutly no repeating patterns like in stadions! I got so much respect for these guys. I bet my left nut everyone rode on his limit, and thats why we ride! And the nature is stunning, I wish we could ride tracks like this over here.
