However, I must say that your explanation of the set of functions that you describe in this video is by far the best I have seen. You are an excellent educator and demonstrator! I got the MPC live 2 on the way. The sp404 is cool but not the best workflow. I'll use them together though.

So technically you could record a 4 bar drum pattern and copy it to 3 patterns and delete the snare and hats from one then delete the kick and hats from another and then delete the kick and snare from the 3rd one and have your drums exploded to different patterns.

This was dope, I learned a lot! Tonight I was trying to create a pattern with a drum break that I sampled for both 1 bar and 2 bars and it plays but then pauses before playing again. Do I just need to mess with the BPM's to get it to loop correctly? Big Ups!

And damn i kno exactly whats happening , its hard to explain in txt tho, but the pattern mode is only gonna play in patterns n not the loops of the breaks if that makes sense , so u would hv to hit that pad again basically record it in twice so that it plays back the right way basically punch it in twice, i hope that helps

Once you've made a pattern the way you showed (by live-playing for example a "kick" sample), is it possible to edit the pattern at the step level e.g. delete only certain steps that play the kick? Or do I have to erase the kick sample from the whole pattern and re-record the kicks?

Nice video, I’ve had my MKII for a few months but Patterns and DJ mode are the 2 areas I haven’t messed with too much yet. Your setup is similar to mine I got a model 12 the SP my MPC live2 and an empress Zioa. I’m curious how you prefer setting up your Pedals with the model 12 and SP together. It took me a while to figure out the model 12 as far as how I wanted to use it and decided to keep it connected to my PC instead of to my MPC in standalone but I’ve been messing around trying to find what works best for my workflow so far I been resampling both ways to and from my MP SP and iPad but I always get a loud feedback loop if set to the SUB mix!? Maybe you could shed some light on how you route pedals in a hybrid scenario? Thanks ❤
