SP-404 MKII | Stash Samples on SD card

I have my samples in the IMPORT folder, that way it'll directly go to the correct folder. Also, the newest firmware lets you stay in the folder after importing a sample, which is so much more convenient!

Every expansion has a folder called Samples in your NI folder where you can find them 🙌🏻 peace bro

Hey man, great video. When I go to "import sounds from my SD card" I noticed a lot of the samples are missing. But when I plug my SD card into my laptop, it shows that all of the samples are there. I made sure to convert the files to 16bit .wav 44.1khz, so i'm not sure why they aren't showing up on the menu in the SP404mk2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe check the format of them? Make sure it's not MP3 or some other weird format

I have two questions. What is the maximum SD card size the 404MK2 accepts? It turns out that the new 404mk2 lacks the function of reading samples directly from the SD card, as it was in the old 404SX and 404A?

Yessir, 32 GB SDHC is the highest supported - You have 16 gb of internal memory and 16 projects. So projects or samples from the SD you need to import onto the unit's internal memory. Which is not too bad at all imo.

Haha yeah, didn't think about that at all while throwing the thumbnail together. Could change the thumbnail but I think the new mission is get a 128 gb card to work :D

I'm actually surprised that you prefer loading drums and samples from the SD card in standalone mode. I prefer the drag & drop method from a laptop or computer instead. But that's only cause I don't change my drums after assigning them to pads in all ten banks and saving them on the SD card. Whenever I want to change or use different drums, I use awhole new SD card

Anyone having troubles getting the sd card formated on the sp? i bought 2 hama SDHC 32gb cards (80mbits) but cant bring them to work with the sp404 format.. always having troubles.. tried with exFAT, FAT32 and even more formats, but i just cant get them to work on the SP. for the Update of Version 2.00 i used an old 16gb sandisk SDHC card that i found in an old digicam. thats the only card that worked out perfect by far. dont know what kind of card i should buy to not have that kind of troubles no more. im using an older macbook jfyi. anybody can help me out?

I had the same problem with hardware looper. The solution was to format them in my digital camera. Before that I tried to format them in my PC, using the same file system (FAT32), without success.

What if my [import from sd card]->[sample] loads and says no samples even though I’ve put my samples onto my sd card already? (32GB SD) It shows up in projects but then says format error even though it’s just a bunch of wav files

Take a closer look at them, make sure they're 16-bit 44khz to be sure. Dont remember exactly what it handles but if it's that you shouldnt have a problem
