Wow, I can hardly believe that worked. When I pressed the ball into that area it was so sore, but when I was done the pain in the back of my knee was better. Very cool.

Shouldnt this muscle be strenghtened if you have externally rotated tibia and knee pain?

It crosses the knee joint, it's main function is to unlock the knee.

Hi, Dr Wu, on my right knee lateral side, if i bend my knee, then straighten it out on doing so, the lateral tendon catches and sometimes locks, i push through and it snaps, when i push through, the pain is off the scale, i feel i want to throw up, was told by a surgeon that its the Popliteus tendon, i had the bone shaved down recently but their is no change, just the same, what the hell can i do, can they take the tendon out???

Hi Dr Wu; and thank you for replying to me, no, nowhere near Dallas, i am based in the UK, i recently had a high tibial Osteotomy on my right knee, and i asked the surgeon if he could do something about the catching snapping, sometimes locking on the lateral side, he said it was the popliteus tendon, that maybe catching on a part of a bone, so he did the Osteotomy, and also shaved down the bone on the lateral side, and took out some fat pads, but it has made no difference what-so-ever, the snapping is just the same, really disappointed, the Osteotomy has gone well, but the snapping on the lateral side is going to give me hell if i don't get it sorted.
