Goku and Frieza Vs Jiren 60FPS

Trying to find the best algorithm and interpolation method for 60FPS Dragon Ball Super. This was the smoothest I could get with the least amount of artifacts. I've come across too many 'fake' 60 FPS videos on youtube with no interpolation method used and decided to do my own.

Takahashi is a brilliant coordinator when it came to his fights in Super. He literally put in details that almost no animator would think, especially subtle or minor details that added gravitas to any situation.

They know SSJ is what we really love. They also used something similar when Goku fought Beerus in the movie. SSJ was a form obtain by truly surpassing his limits over a loss of a friend. The god forms have no emotional ties so we don't care when they transform into it and UI was cheesy plot writing so it's good but not good you know?

I think the thing that hits the hardest is that through the entire fight, Frieza puts absolute faith and trust in Goku. He doesn't do anything to undermine the goal because he knows that despite his naivete, Goku will guarentee he is resurrected. No backtalk, no backstabbing, He simply falls into perfect sync with Goku.

It's a mixture of Frieza knowing he's the only one of him and Goku to betray the others trust. Goku never went back on a promise. And Frieza had to win, or else he and his universe would be destroyed. He had to good reasons to cooperate, he knew Goku would keep his promise, and if he didn't do his part, the 7th universe would be destroyed.

In the manga After the training with Wish , Goku and vegeta fought against jiren in their base form . Then After vegeta was knocked out frieza threw a death ball against jiren while Goku was blocking him and then he turned in Golden form and knocked the two of them out of the ring with himself .

I liked the whole thing, but the series was INFINITELY better in the manga version. Almost EVERY problem from the anime wasn't in the manga. For example, Cauflia didn't go Super Saiyan through a tingly back, Trunks didn't randomly unlock the spirit bomb, and Andriod 17 was only as strong as SSJ3 instead of SSB.

I love that little interaction between Goku and Frieza at 0:53 . Frieza tells Goku to throw him at Jiren. Goku doesn't ask why, he doesn't inquire as to what Frieza means, he doesn't say something stupid about how it's suicide going alone or some BS like that. No, he just takes a second to realize what Frieza means by that, it clicks, and he immediately follows through without hesitation. Absolutely perfect, and it makes the fight feel all the more real because of it.

They put so much heart into the fight. One of my favorite bits is after Frieza tells Goku to throw him, and there's that shot of Goku sliding down that tower getting ready with that music getting you super pumped for the throw. Then there's Frieza just slamming into this absolute unit by himself while Goku's pushing his hardest to catch up and help without enough gas in the tank to even complete the Super Saiyan transformation. Like damn, everything about this last fight just makes you want to watch the Tournament of Power all over again.

A personal addition to all your points for me is just the fact that Goku is teaming up with one of the last remnants of the Red Ribbon Army (DB), his sworn nemesis (DBZ) and he himself having made it all the way to DBS with them by his side. And they were _both_ hellbent on wanting to kill him; even if 17 was forced into it. It feels like everyone represents every generation of the show both directly and indirectly, which is very nice.

This is my favorite ending to an anime yet. The fact that Goku put his trust in two former enemies to save his universe is incredible. Frieza was basically one of his lifelong rivals aside from Vegeta and working together with #17 & Frieza was an astounding end. The ToP really brought back DBS from it's failed beginning. They also put in that it's not just about power levels and stuff, but it's about strategy and trust!

The coolest part is you look at that team and realize how much of an impact Goku made in that universe, fighting alongside many who stood against him in the beginning. You can’t forget Tien and Piccolo were antagonists earlier on in the story too. 6/10 members of that universe’s team were Goku’s enemies at one point (Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, 17 and 18) and the other members were his master, his best friend and his son. Goku’s adventures and his ability to find the best in everyone built that team.

yeah it was definitely worth it sitting through 10 minutes of flashbacks and talking for 5 minutes of action for a whole year. better part, is that the manga is different and both are equally extremely satisfying. in the manga, android 17 self destructs to take away half the stadium forcing jiren to be close to a ledge. instead of frieza, goku combos with vegeta and push jiren to the brink, a result of their tag team training with whis. jiren eliminates vegeta but as he was going to push goku off, frieza distracts him with a ki bomb. as soon as jiren turns to stop the ki bomb, goku puts him in a choke hold and frieza turns gold to gain enough strength to push both jiren and goku off of the ledge that 17 created. in case you don’t remember like the rest of us, krillin wished away 17 and 18’s self destruct function, meaning that 17 only pretended to self destruct, and since he’s an android jiren couldn’t detect his presence and didn’t suspect his plans. the bottomline is the same as the anime, jiren’s biggest weakness is teamwork. in an 1 on 1 tournament jiren would have won, but in a team tournament he’s lacking. goku on the other hand was willing to trust the bad guys in his life for the win. not only that, it only worked because frieza trusted 17 and helped him fake his death and was willing to push himself off the cliff so 17 could be the last one standing

Man I'd even go as far as to say one of the most impactful moments in all of anime and would proudly back it up. I liked Super, but part of that is because I watched the movies instead of the anime for the first 2 arcs. I enjoyed BoG, and Ressurection 'F'. But have heard the animation, and pacing was bad for the first two arcs in the anime series. Then I jumped into the anime at the Goku Black arc. It had it's flaws, but I enjoyed it. Then the ToP arc was great, and the Broly movie was great. I'm not reading the manga ATM, but apparently the Moro arc is really good too. I'll walk away from this series positive. Honestly, GT about put me to sleep in certain parts. Super got me hyped more, and more as it went on. Super isn't as good as Z, obviously, but it's definitely not bad, IMO.

This is one of the greatest scenes in film history. If you take a moment to understand and appreciate the dynamics, it's stunning. Frieza has always back stabbed and betrayed people. He's a psychopath that only loves himself and only relies on himself. Almost always has a trick or two up his sleeve or another angle to play. Just like how Vegeta was, except worse and far more cunning/manipulative. But, Goku broke him. It took Frieza a while to warm up to him, and even though he still hates him, something changed. Frieza trusts Goku. WTF. This "monkey" took everything from the emperor. He beat him, humiliated him, and even showed him mercy...a sentence worse than death for a proud warrior whose sole identity is strength. This "monkey" earned Frieza's trust, when he symbolically put his life in Goku's hands. When Frieza took Jiren down and was planning on a double KO, in that moment, he proved that he trusted Goku. He couldn't gain the Super Dragon Balls or broker another deal at this stage. He would be out with zero leverage. Frieza had to rely on Goku's word of honor (which is why he double checked right before the battle). This is enormous character growth and this fact saved Universe 7. The momentous redemption of the most evil villain in their universe, by his trust in Goku. These two completely opposite individuals put aside their differences to save their shared universe. Frieza obviously hasn't turned a new leaf (and it would be boring if they made him too soft) but for right now, this was a masterful way to tie in the Frieza vs Goku legacy. Bravo! P.S. I used "momentous" for both senses of the word. Related to Momentary (he'll probably start killing again) as well as significant.

Well it is pretty obvious goku can be trusted if he promises it. Frieza knows that. The real trust shows in combat. They are a better combo than vegeta and goku. Although vegeta is the better fusion partner because they dont mix well. Which is supposed to strengthen the fusion or something. While goku and frieza can work really well together. Although a vegeta/goku combo has the gimmick of being unexpected, not working well together. Which can work out of the enemy expects them working as a team. If teamwork is needed, yeah a serious frieza works better. Same goes for someone like gohan or picollo, both would work better with goku than vegeta.

A lot about Freeza has changed after this. His reaction while fighting Broly is sign enough. He was thrilled with Broly's insane power because it gave him motivation to improve himself further. Prior to this tournament, when someone outclasses him, Freeza flies into a blind rage. He even did so against Jiren, repeating the same thing he said to Goku on Namek. "You *must* die by MY hand!" But this is by no means a face turn. Not even a step toward one. Freeza seeks strong opponents for the sake of tightening his grip on his empire. He has learned patience as well as the benefits of training. He's less of a spoiled child now and that makes me potentially more dangerous then ever.

This fight is just amazing, like Jiren's smile, all 3 working togheter un sync, 17 fighting smart by using hus unlimited energy isntead of brute force and Jiren going after him precisely for that, Freezer willing to sacrife himself, Goku ssj flickering, the music, the smooth animation and coreography, the reaction shots, the feeling of everyone fighting with no reserves at all, the clash of phylosophies in the characters. Like you truly know it is a good ending for a foe when they have to do desperate 3v1 to the last breath and still have to sacrifice two of them to win. This is truly peak dragon ball. 17 was the heart of TOP❤. He never existed in my top characters of DB but now he is definitely one of my favourites, such an incredible character ❤ He contributed more than anyone in TOP, i think more than Goku and Vegeta themselves.

To be fair, even Frieza realized that his wish was pointless if their entire universe got erased. 17 wasn't strong enough to do what Frieza could, so he needed to take the fall with Goku in order to ensure that the last man standing was a U7 member. Frieza fucking hates Goku...but being completely wiped from existence is something he would hate even more.

sergeantassassin3 well normally freiza would’ve sat there and waited and most likely took a shot at jiren and then knock him off you were right he would care but let’s not forget who tried to see if goku could break free from HAKAI without regards to him being the strongest on the team freiza did it out of sacrifice and not because he was scared he fears only goku and that’s how it will stay freiza gets a kick outta that stuff and seventeen has infinite stamina so he definitely could’ve done something but why didn’t he oh yeah of course P L O T

If you saw in the end he put his faith and trust in goku. And even after elimination he says don't start thanking me. I'll be happy as long as you keep your promise. This shows how much they know each other. They know each other and trust each other so well that they are willing to put their differences aside and join together. Even after elimination you could see frieze smiling. As if he really liked that moment he had. He realized that saiyans are not so bad after all.
